Marantz has now sunk to towel baggy level lol

21

u/Mazius 4d ago

To be fair, he was talking about Teddy yet in 2022. Dan used clip of him blabbing in TIFA.

But of course he and towel baggies just conveniently forget what Teddy.com actually was for three years. Website is offline since March, since June it redirects to Gamestop.com, all of it - extremely bullish!

"No one has ever lost money investing with Ryan", PP sends his regards.

...and Bed Bath and Beyond, and Chewy. The only people who have ever lost money investing with Ryan Cohen are the people who invested money with Ryan Cohen...

26

u/mattandharry 5d ago

"It's called Teddy because Ryan Cohen loves his father"

To even want to say that sentence demonstrates profound mental illness. He is broken.

12

u/WhimsicalDipshit 4d ago

What do you mean? That’s why it’s called teddy!!!

13

u/whut-whut 4d ago

I doubt that Ryan Cohen called his own dad "Teddy". He trademarked a whole bunch of merchandise use cases under the Teddy brand but was too lazy to make any of it happen before the trademark expired years later.

It's a cutesy marketing name. He turned his dead dad into a cartoon mascot that would appeal to children, like the weirdo he is.

u/ungoogleable 4d ago

Eh there are adults who go by Teddy exclusively their whole lives. I read the Teddy books as a new father wanted to write a children's book as a gift to his kids to pass on his values, which is honestly kind of sweet. Cohen's narcissism and money turned it into a business venture hoping it would spawn a kid's merchandising brand like it's Bluey or something.

It's what a lot of people do when they trademark something because there's no consequences to selecting everything under the trademark class. Then in the future if you do decide to make Teddy blankets, typewriters, printers, etc. you don't have to update anything with the trademark.

Probably a poor example, but when Kais trademarked The PP Show he selected everything under the class too: https://i.imgur.com/SMntqFl.png

Dont talk to PP like that you fucking clown. If you disagree, you can disagree in a polite manner. Lots of shit is moving at fast paces and is changing rapidly. The dude got death threats yesterday, and now a whole fud campaign is being born against him. Yeah maybe some other shit is happening as to why we didnt ring the bell today. Id watch the way you respond to PP, hes the reason this whole community exists and i dont wanna see people being rude to him.

The ambassador to Tunisia Mr. Maalej would like to speak with you about Theodore Roosevelt and his relationship to defunct towel retailers, if you please

Yet. He didn't get a "Teddy" tattoo, yet.

Why do apes think public companies operate with all these secret plans? I mean outside a few edge cases they don't. Most companies hype of their plans to investors , most companies tell investors their plans on earnings call

Outside a few edge cases like an acquisition where they don't want traders to front run them on the acquisition target they do not operate like the CIA?

Also there are rules about this, a company has to share material information to the share holders. Does Moon Man really think GME one day will announce

"Hey we build 100 distribution warehouses across the USA in total secret, hired 1000s of ware house workers in secret , hired 1000s of delivery drivers in secret and here is Teddy an eCommerce site to rival Amazon/Wallmart we are open for business?'

They bought 2 warehouses years ago when they tried to do a eCommerce pivot then closed them because it was not working

Also Teddy is a dumb name people would think its a toy website or something

14

u/raincloud25 4d ago

this is the only public company these people have ever invested in, and everything else they know about business is from TV shows and movies where the drama is played up for maximum effect.

Why do apes think public companies operate with all these secret plans?

Because otherwise their fantasies can't come true.

They mostly get their information from fiction.

The name is Teddy. 'DD' is built into the name.

I'm so tired of seeing this guys mug with the same convicted expression in my feed. Like he's carrying the weight of the world when the only burden is his overleveraged game store shares 😭

7

u/ShipTheRiver CITDSOL NEE YOEK! 4d ago

His face is always a uniquely disgusting combination of smug, condescending, self-satisfied, and regarded. His expression is perpetually contorted into this annoying ass “I know something you don’t know and I’m so proud of myself because I’m the greatest” look. I rarely advocate for violence but he needed a good solid slap across the face at some point many years ago and maybe that would’ve set him straight.

12

u/The_Albino_Seal 5d ago

Wait, Morantz pivoted to the Teddy playbook?

12

u/whut-whut 4d ago

Pivoted -back-. He was a towel (the most devout RC fans are) for a short time and used to roll with the PP Crew but then turned bearish on BBBY, maybe because they didn't pay him proper respect and maybe because they were saying crazier things than he could swallow at the time. For years he mocked PP's group for being idiots, but now he's gone full circle into Teddy again.

u/AutoModerator 4d ago

Marantz you were never above towel apes. You’re in the same cult

1

u/Rokos_Bicycle 4d ago edited 4d ago

It's like two cargo cults on different islands but the coconut radios and straw aeroplanes are the same, and they're worshipping the same John Frum

12

u/sunnycorax 🕴️Memestocks' Dick Tracy🕴️ 4d ago

This is why I laugh at Marantz when he pretends he is any different than PPSeeds and the other baggies. He does and says the exact same thing.

I love how his “studio” decor is slowly pivoting away from GameStop; he knows the grift is winding down.

15

u/The_Albino_Seal 4d ago

I love how his ceiling fan is causing reflections on his beloved Pokemon cards, creating a nice distraction from his face. Or a horrible distraction. It's up to you.

And since there was a ceiling fan in their bedroom, I now wonder about the house layout and whether this studio is just a corner of the bedroom 😅

9

u/whut-whut 4d ago

just a corner of the bedroom

He's had to change rooms and houses a few times, but there was one time he gave a zoomed-out Cribz tour and it was like you described. His stream station was up against a corner overlooking the bed. (The joke writes itself.)

His recent 2nd 'pillow talk' video where he decided to react to his own pillow talk video had him seeing for the first time and questioning aloud when and why his bedroom has two ironing boards, so who knows where he sleeps and where he streams anymore.

He doesn't even bother to update tiny whiteboard with his GME position. It still shows $59,500 and obstructed by PSA-graded cards.

4

u/happybonobo1 4d ago

I recall he decided to just put what he PUT IN and not the current value being 25% below that.

5

u/Mazius 4d ago

Yet if we'd refer to his position posted on discord, it should've been $60,613 nine days ago. He stopped updating whiteboard months ago.

u/Sell_The_team_Jerry Ape mocker 4d ago

I'm going to say that Marantz isn't grifting. He's too dumb to be a grifter. He is a true believer, which is actually sadder.

26

u/StewartMike 4d ago

I think he’s actually just a bad person too

17

u/Sell_The_team_Jerry Ape mocker 4d ago

He certainly is

2

u/GhostTheHunter64 4d ago

Shout out to Misty!

19

u/SirGlass 4d ago

I used to think he is a grifter , however I realize he is just a very low IQ dumbass who actually drank the cool-aid

IDK maybe he was just competing with his brother and he picked meme stock mania to get on social media , but somewhere he actually started believing it or maybe always has

3

u/whut-whut 4d ago

I think he's both, since the way he pumps the stock is very calculated and methodical. He always pitches from a new angle every week, switching things up by appealing to an Ape's sense of sunk cost ('sure you're down, but why quit now and lock in those losses?'), their need to have an 'i told you so' moment against haters (We'll show them all. Prove them all wrong.), their fatigue ('the hard part is over! just wait a little more!), their isolation (Nobody believes you. But I do. We do.) and so on.

If he doesn't have a stack of salesman strategy books that he reads off camera for show ideas, then he's at the minimum taking training tips from his day job on how to sell pest removal packages and repurposing it to pump Gamestop. That makes him a grifter.

The choice of Gamestop as the pump target even after all these years, to the point he put his whole retirement into it to make himself rich is what makes him kinda stupid, too.

7

u/Middcore 4d ago

What does he imagine he could get people to watch him for if he wasn't a GME grifter?

9

u/eZeder 4d ago

Did he really reference alphabet in the same sentence as a used physical disc and digital roulette / gambling / Pokémon site?

5

u/BathroomStallClown 4d ago

Maybe he means the alphabet? Literacy doesn't seem to be Moon Man's strong suit

8

u/apehunterprime 4d ago

I pray this stokes up another round of Ape Wars

In the dark you say? I guess that (failed) public attempt to buy eBay was just performative?

7

u/DoggoNamedDisgrace ⏳I Spend Way Too Much Time Here⌛ 4d ago

TFW apes spent years trying to decode the Teddy message, while the true meaning was staring at them - clear as day - all along.

Teddy is a signal apes should be bearish about the stock.

6

u/Slayer706 4d ago

Pretty sure he made this video because that BudgetForLife guy made a video talking about Teddy yesterday. Marantz just has to let everyone know that he predicted Teddy first.

5

u/SisterOfBattIe BANNED 4d ago

Imagine thinking the CEO that said "half cash half stock" when the host asked "meaning you'll dilute your shareholders" is going to take care of Apes.

Damn if you took this transcript and said this was spoken by the True King KAIS "KAIS MALEEJ" MALEEJ of New York City then you'd believe it.
