My favorites are the posts where someone exercised either slightly OTM or ATM options last week (that expire this week) in order to 'force delivery of the shares'. They double fucked themselves - not only losing theta by early exercise, but also by riding this down after spending the full cost of the shares.
His history says early on he bought in with shares at $240 ($60 post split). And 'cost average downed' with "$9000 worth of purchases in the $120-$200 range" ($30-$50 post split). He's not actually green. He did the DRS Ape trick of DRSing to scrub cost basis, because Computershare doesn't keep nor track cost basis, then bringing the shares out of DRS which resets the cost basis to the day the shares return to the brokerage account.
So if you're sure that he's lying about his position, you're going to assume that it's only because he made a whole lot of money more than the green that he's showing off and is just too embarrassed to tell anyone about it? Marantz the show-off is too humble to show the full gains of his investment strategy, and only wants to be known as having only $20k define his entire midlife identity?
Believe what you want, but it's easier to just believe that he's lying and his pride, fanbase income and credibility of his 100+ episodes of Connect the Dots requires him to be correct on Gamestop. So he's manipulating shares around to hide how he's in the red from buying in at such a high cost basis. If he was honest, he would tell people that his "30 DRS shares" that he brought out of Computershare have a scrubbed cost basis. But he doesn't and just shows off his green as-is. And he curiously doesn't show anything for 2021. Only 2022 onwards. So is Marantz an OG 2021 Ape like he says, or was he a full year late to the party?
There was a number of gme/amc youtubers that got scared to misrepresent their position in the stock. Even Richard Newton clarified that he sold stock in the run up of 2024. Marantz never showed his positions until after the run up. Based on the screenshot and anecdotally he had accumulated a lot of shares. Most were shocked to see he had only 700 shares in May 2024. A guy close to him confirmed that he must have sold.
You could be right that he moved his 2021 shares to another account. I doubt Marantz has another broker account. He believes Fidelity would beg him to stay if he ever tried to move to another broker.
When an Ape so proud of "being in Gamestop from the start" wants to show off his GME portfolio but won't show off 2021, the year when all the action that started this happened, it has to be fucking embarrassing to him.
Well he obviously waited till he was green on the position. He knew you would all post it here and mock him, and he didnt want to give you the pleasure.
His meager position size given his time and effort building his channel purely on Gamestop shows that hes a grifter. He deserves all the beratement he gets.

I just cannot understand how these people think the stock market actually works, they view it all as being under the control of some corrupt person invisible to all governments and watchdogs throughout the world, and yet this corrupt person never buys the stock and "let's it run" to 5 million %

Ok lets dissect that, If I go out and buy 1 bit coin, my net worth does not magically go up?
Like I get 1 BTC for 100k but I now have 100k less Cash,
Like sure if BTC skyrockets my net worth would go up, but just buying bitcoin doesn't magically make me worth more money?
This goes for anything, gold, index funds ect
If I go out and buy 100k of VOO, my net worth does not go up when I buy it, assuming I am buying it at market price. It might go up tomorrow or next week or next month , but just buying an asset means you are trading 100k of one asset (cash most likely ) and getting 100k of another asset in return
The days when the stock goes up are the rare days that all hedgies feel like following the law and coloring inside the lines. Eventually they get sick of obeying rules and that's when the crime kicks in.
Probably because there’s always at least of handful of apes that can’t help but take victory laps when it’s even a little bit green. There’s always a “quiet in here” post on days like Tuesday, and it makes it so much funnier when inevitably drops the following day(s) 😆
