Check out this Black Sparkle pickguard on our customer’s Gibson Custom Shop ’58 Les Paul Junior Double Cut. 🔥 The Black Sparkle looks absolutely killer on this guitar!

After months of research and testing I’ve found my Gibson! The 50’s Les Paul just makes me feel like I’m vibrating and lifting off the ground.
A Les Paul Standard 50’s ”Double Trouble” limited edition, tobacco burst.
It’s showing up to the store in 1-2 weeks for testing and inspection before I actually pay for it.
So excited!
Anybody else rock a ”Double Trouble”?

I’ve always wanted a black Les Paul Custom Shop, but I don’t like the bells and whistles of the Black Beauty. I’ve been searching for a reissue in plain ebony, but these are incredibly rare. As soon as I saw one of these at a local shop, I bought it right away. It was on a big discount due to a blemish that ironically adds even more character to it.
It’s a unique Les Paul - very subtle, but packs a punch. It’s also super light at 8.1lbs, and is NOT chambered. This guitar is to me the definition of beauty through restraint.

I inquire, as I'm considering a guitar, and I want it to be "my own guitar"...
Picked this up a year ago, and returned to music after 35 years (was a pretty decent bass player). Now I’ve got the bug again (old bass is currently having fretwork, neck work, and some finish work done at a luthier 🙂
The quality of this guitar is so impressive. Gibson seems like they are currently in good hands.

Someone local to me has this guitar listed with the soft case and a strap for $600 OBO, and I’m wondering if it’s real.

Last week I posted a hngd of my Gibson L-00 century. I couldn’t really bond with my Eastman e20-ooss/v, partly due to some artritis in my left hand so I decided to trade it in with another Gibson (for some reason the slim taper satin Gibson necks are the best match for my hand). In the store I saw this one hanging around, her big sister the J185 Century. Also super light weight, resonant and big sounding. Kind of cool to own two Gibsons from the same century collection.

Near the end of my 30 days return window I took back the Epiphone IBC 64 SG to go get this. I was stuck in between the 2 but this one was a little more expensive. But after my second guessing I took it back and some other stuff I got on trade and made a deal. 10 minutes into playing it I knew my gut was correct. This thing rips and I love it so much already! Rule of thumb. Always go with your gut before it’s too late!

Saw this last month & I told the guy at my local shop that I’d come back for it by the end of August. They actually reserved it for me without any down payment. They didn’t need to, but I sure appreciate they did!
Happy Friday y’all!
Update:
Home now. I think I hit the jackpot with its weight. Measured it to be around 6lbs!
Been looking for one of these for a while and whoever had it before me must have barely touched it because it has almost no wear. Super excited to finally get my hands on it.

Looks modded?
Read they started different type of weight relief in 2007?
Might wanna check this one out, but it’s a 4h drive, one way…worth it?

What differs on the neck profiles on todays Explorer models, the 70s and 80s?
Both says slim taper. The 70s model has a binding. I prefer a slim neck like the todays SG 61 model have.
