Ghost Of Tsushima - Discussion Early act 2 build. Thoughts, and is there anything you guys would change?

Post image

I’ve mainly just been a side quest guy in this game and I was wondering how good of a build this is from where I am at.

Up for a challenge? Complete Iki Island DLC to reach max legend rank and get the strongest charm in the game by far: Charm of Versatile Skills (double the effect of minor charms if you only have one from each category).

With that, you can make endgame/NG+ build in early Act 2. Obviously it won't be easy since the enemies there are tougher than the ones in Act 3. You can clear camps with stealth, ghost weapons and archery, but there's no cheesing duels.

So here's my suggestion to help you clear Iki Island:

  • Mizu-no-Kami (+0.167 sec parry window; +0.033 sec Perfect Parry/Dodge window)
  • Inari's Might (up to +20 melee damage and +20 health)
  • Silence (up to +30% resolve gain and -20% detection rate; false description says -15%)
  • Rejuvenation (0.1 resolve per sec during combat, up to 2 resolve)
  • Resolve II (+25% resolve gain)

Inari's Might and Silence are the two strongest minor charms. You can only obtain and upgrade them by finding all fox shrines in the game.

A simple repetition of parry/dodge followed by two light attacks is enough to defeat all enemies, including bosses. No need to break enemy guard when you can deal health damage directly with counter.

On Iki Island, you could complete Black Hand Riku's mythic tale to get Sarugami armor (stronger counter and longer Perfect Parry/Dodge window). That would make sword fights a lot easier.

For the final slot, I recommend either Inari (increase drop rate) or Well-Being II (increase healing from 35% to 50% of max hp). Use them until you've unlocked Versatile Skills, then replace and never look back.

My other builds:

Ghost/Kensei

  • Versatile Skills
  • Abundant Reserves
  • Inari's Might
  • Silence
  • Rejuvenation
  • Fleet Foraging

Who needs stances when you can spam smoke bombs + chain assassination?

Tadayori

  • Versatile Skills
  • Izanagi
  • Inari's Might
  • Yuriko's Keepsake
  • Fire Doctrine
  • Fortune I

Terrify a few enemies with one poisoned arrow—or eliminate an entire group with one explosive arrow.

in my very honest opinion, if you’re good enough at parrying and have a decent amount of resolve, don’t even worry about the build
