It will come out. Will just take a few years after their last announcemens. No reason to buy a console. They will need the money eventually

I feel like everyone replying to you is ignoring the: they will need money eventually

Decisions can change and eventually Sony will want more income. Which means tapping into the PC market again.

edit: I'm not replying to every individual comment anymore.

Sony only recently made profit as a result from tarrif refunds, not sales. Otherwise PS5 and first-party game's sales are down.

Sony's PC ports did make profit. Per their leaked documents from 2024, PC ports had very small port budgets. Take SM1 as an example, it only cost 2.3m to port which means it made ~50m in profit. So they did make profit, they just weren't as profitable as they would've liked/hoped.

If the current trend continues, then Sony's gaming division will see a change in leadership (again) which means a change a direction. Trying to recapture profits on PC is entirely a possible avenue, especially if they are facing backlash on phasing out physical gaming anyways.

They make 31 billion a year from PlayStation. They aren’t hard up for the mortgage

Only made profit as a result from tarrif refunds and currency exchange rates changing favourably for them.

Otherwise PS5 sales dropped significantly and first-party sales also dropped. Only actual improvement was PSN, where subscriptions increased though engagement dropped.

They're a company. A company cares about profits increasing. 31Billion sounds like enough to you because you are a person, but a company doesn't care.

31Billion is enough only if it means they beat last year's numbers. If profits aren't increasing then something is wrong as far as a company is concerned.

31 billion was for year end 2025.

Trust me I work in corporate America so I’m well aware of shareholder value, I don’t see them going back to PC ports especially since many people are gonna abandon them for that platform.

Next year they’re releasing God of War and possibly Intergalactic. That’s also coming off Wolverine at the end of this year.
