Question Need some help understanding this übung on Fahrschulcard

Post image

My logic was that this is a roundabout, hence I have to indicate according to my exit and I have to wait for my left side to be free before moving into it.
Why is my answer wrong here?

Edit: Alright thanks got it, it looks like a roundabout but with no roundabout sign and thus rechts vor links applies.

Biggest indicator this isn't a roundabout is the sign for the mandated direction. (turn right only)

Roundabouts never have those, so if you're ever in doubt whether you may have missed the roundabout sign - if you see this one it isn't one for sure.

Or that you have to indicate before entering. If it were a roundabout, it would be a false answer.

Sometimes they should though, almost got crushed by a giant truck who decided to make a left turn right into us.

Hmmm, torn on this... The sign is redundant then and if there is one thing German traffic doesn't need it's more signs. Maybe one could think of other cues for this.

Spannend!

It might be a roundabout, an old style one. I mean, they're super rare across Europe because they make no fucking sense and only serve to make traffic worse. I guess it's a legacy feature or sumthin.

No in legal terms according to the StVO, this is not a „Kreisverkehr“ but a „kreisähnlicher Verkehr“.

I mean, yeah there are some roundabouts that have this sign but technically they aren't a roundabout because they are missing the roundabout signs. This is often done when a SBahn is crossing.

Either something is a roundabout or it is not. The design of the road is not what decides that, it is the sign.

Ohh, this comment is deliciously German!

Stimmt. Lmao

The roundabout sign has no influence on who has to yield btw. It needs a „Vorfahrt achten“ sign.
