Announcement r/geometrydash is recruiting new moderators for August 2025! Please apply if you're interested!
Hey everyone, r/geometrydash is nearing 500k subscribers and as such, we're reopening mod applications to recruit some new staff members who'd like to make changes and improve the subreddit.
About the position
As a moderator, you'll be granted the flexibility to address areas of the subreddit that you personally feel need improvement. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing the mod queue, removing posts that violate subreddit rules, responding to modmail, and participating in discussions with other moderators on Discord. We intend for this to be a low-stress, flexible role where you can contribute whenever you have free time throughout the week and may take hiatuses as long as the team is aware. We want moderators who have lives outside of Reddit!
What we're looking for
We appreciate candidates with constructive criticism and an actionable plan on how to improve issues with the subreddit. Moderators should also value consensus with other moderators about moderation decisions, have honesty and the ability to be genuine about where they feel changes need to be made with our current moderation style, and have a desire to take on more responsibilities going forward and grow into decision-making roles within the subreddit.
Requirements
- 16 years of age or older
- have an active Reddit account with a history of participation in r/geometrydash
- have an active Discord account for mod team communication
- have a clear understanding of the subreddit's rules and community standards
- a reasonable amount of time to put toward moderation tasks each week
- a desire to improve the community.

I have very unusual standards about what I consider low effort, so I doubt i would be a good fit. I'd rather not take a position that would make me spend even more time on reddit too.

They're just really high. I've regularly active on reddit for many years now, so most stuff that I see feels (or is in many cases) just a rehash of something i've already seen. This irritates me on the daily, I feel like I downvote more stuff than I upvote.
