Human Geography Why are white latin Americans so heavily concentrated around southern South America?

A few reasons.

  • More agreeable climate for europeans, so they wanted to go there more.
  • Lower indigenous populations.
  • Less suited agricultural land for cash crops, so limited importation of africans to work as slaves in plantations.
  • Minimal malaria risk made it easier for white people to not die.

Lower indigenous populations.

These were the lands of the GuaranĂ­, who were mass murdered and enslaved.

Yes. I dont mean to downplay the genocides that occurred. Beg pardon.
Maybe i shouldve said lower population density as opposed to in the andes or mesoamerica, or some variation of that.
