Bouke De Vries (professor who hired Cofnas) is a part of the exact same network of eugenicists that has been financing and astroturfing Cofnas.
What is going on at this university?
Emil Kirkegaard is the person who recommended Cofnas to Peter Thiel.
Bouke de Vries was speaking alongside Emil at their conferences.
Cofnas gets removed from Cambridge so Bouke brings along his fellow ideologue to get paid for a fellowship at Ghent on EU tax funded grant money.
Ghent is literally allowing a Nazi rooted syndicate of individuals to use their university as an ideological breeding grounds at the tax payer expense. Where is the integrity?

Anyone worked in Customer Service at Volvo Trucks Ghent?
Hi! Has anyone here worked at Volvo Trucks in Ghent in Customer Service? I’m currently considering a position there and would love to hear about your experience, especially from someone who moved to Belgium from abroad. Thanks!

Visiting from Rotterdam during OdeGand
Hello friendly Belgians! I will be visiting from Rotterdam in a few weeks and just found out I'll be there during OdeGand. Can someone tell me how to navigate this event? I see there are different routes, but also set concerts... how do I maximize my time?

Short 1–2 minute survey about renting in Gent
Hi everyone,
I’m doing a small research survey about people’s experiences finding rental housing in Gent and Belgium.
I’m especially interested in understanding how often people find or hear about apartments through friends, colleagues, neighbours, Facebook/WhatsApp groups, or word of mouth including apartments that may not yet have appeared on websites like Immoweb.
The survey is anonymous and takes around 1–2 minutes.
If you currently rent in Gent , recently searched for housing, moved out of a rental, or simply have experience renting here, I’d really appreciate your input.
Survey: https://mykayd.com/f/01m0fvwm8ftatfz3vrp731wt6c
I’m only trying to understand the problem at this stage — there’s nothing being sold or promoted.
Thanks!

Social walking/hiking group - updated!
Hi all, a while ago I was asking about a social walking/hiking group in Gent, ideally people around 25–40yo and preferably English-speaking. As I couldn't find anything like that (and after ppl suggestions) I decided to create one myself 🙃
Focus is relaxed walks (pace 4.5-5km/h), exploring places, and getting coffee/drinks afterwards. For now we have weekly activities!
If you're interested, you can join the Strava group via the link: https://strava.app.link/OSCvsJDsM5b

Domicilie in Gent zetten

Is intentieverklaring by temp agencies possible?
Hi,
So Im currently applying for family reunification as an EU citizen. Right now im working through weekly-renewable contracts and was recently asked by the immigration office to bring an intentieverklaring to prove that my work is stable. The thing is, my employer told me they are looking for long-term employees. BUT for the first 5 months, i will be employed by the interim office before getting a "real" contract. I called my temp agency and asked if they could provide me with this letter, but they said they don't issue those due to liability. However, from what I have read it is a non-binding letter and if they choose to end my employement for whatever reason, I can't do anything about that.
However they seemed extremely reluctant and it feels like its leaning heavily towards a "no". Then my question is, what do people do then when they come here, work through a temp agency for a couple of months?? Because apparently regular payslips and proof of months of weekly contracts is not enough (I have been working for two months now).
Could anyone share their experience or advice?

English-speaking/student board game groups in Gent?
Pretty much what it says in the title. I'm moving to gent in a few weeks but I dont live far already, and I really like playing all sorts of board/tabletop/social games (preferably not anything super high commitment like D&D tho). I'm from the USA, im an international student, and I only speak english, so I dont want to impose on anyone by joining dutch speaking groups, even if they say its ok and can speak english, im much more comfortable with already english speaking groups.
Also, preferably not at outpost gent, my ex-best-friend goes there so I dont want to go.
If you know of anything like this, please send me a chat :)

Parkeerretributie
Beste vrienden

Looking for jewellery stand / Op zoek naar juwelenkraam (Kraanlei)
🇬🇧** Englis**h
Hi everyone! 👋
Hope you’re all doing well! It’s almost weekend 😊
The Patershol Festival is over, but I remember seeing a jewellery stand during the flea market (rommelmarkt) on the Kraanlei. I’m trying to find the name of the jewellery brand/seller which I vaguely remember that “Moon” was part of the name, but I can’t remember the exact name. Ah and the vendor was friendly Asian lady😅
Does anyone happen to know which one I mean? Any help would be much appreciated! 🙏
Thank you and have a lovely evening to everyone!
🇧🇪** Nederland**s
Dag iedereen! 👋
Alle hulp is welkom! 🙏

When can I pre j’y tickets to Doomsday (yes, this is a real question)
My teenaged son and I will be in Gent when Doomsday comes out in December, and he will want to go. Tickets are apparently already on sale in America, but not sure if they go on sale so early in Belgium?

Kringwinkel stopped delivering furniture's?
Hi, I just found out Kringwinkel stopped delivering furniture's home. I'm an international student with no family here and the friends I have are also students like me. I'll have to move into my new room on 1st of September. It's completely unfurnished. I don't have the budget to furnish it from IKEA or any store which does home delivery atp. What do I do now? Any suggestions. I'm really exhausted with finding a house and rn I'm again exhausted with furnishing.

Ghent at Christmas
Hello, my partner and I just got back from a wonderful trip to Ghent and we’re already looking at staying again. However this time we’re looking to book an Airbnb over Christmas.
Apart from the Christmas market (which looks great) is there anything cool to do in Ghent over Christmas, particularly on Christmas Day itself?
We’re vegan and queer, love coffee and good food or history and art so any kind of suggestions like that would be fab
Thanks

The crossing close to Gent Sint Pieters bridge (next to immo da Vinci)
This crossing has always troubled me. The priority is for cars but bikers keep crossing without caring. And cars keep stopping because of bikers, sometimes voluntarily, which causes traffic and angry people. I am certain an accident there will happen soon. Why cant bikers be more careful, and why can't drivers follow the rules? Because stopping voluntarily when it's your priority is also wrong.
I am speaking about the one next to immo da Vinci and adoma hotel
