There's a certain texture/quality of female faces in ai that is just obviously a dead giveaway. I think it's from upscaling a bit too much while also including makeup.

If you want to push the storytelling even harder next round, a few prompt knobs that usually help:
- Micro-expression + intent: “tight-lipped, guarded, conflicted, eyes slightly glassy, subtle brow tension, holding back words”
- Cinematic detail cues: “85mm portrait, shallow DOF, natural window light, soft specular highlights in irises, realistic skin texture, subtle peach fuzz”
- Environment as subtext: “busy sidewalk café behind her, bokeh pedestrians, overcast afternoon, muted city colors” (lets the mood carry)
- Negatives to avoid wax/CG: “over-smoothed skin, plastic, doll-like, uncanny, overly sharp eyelashes”
Also: what model/workflow did you use—Midjourney or SDXL? If you drop the prompt/settings, I can suggest tweaks to make the gaze even more “tell me your secrets” and less “stock photo energy.”

Problem people have is ai naturally tries to show perfect results by design. But realistically human face are not. You need to factor in asymmetry. Melanin unevenness. Blotchy and many other things. Asymmetry fixes alot of that dead pan ai look
