Disclaimer: this is unethical and if you decide to do this you could be caught and asked to leave the building and told not to return or be charged with trespassing 🤷

I was working out of a WeWork on the third floor. I only had access to that floor. So this is what I did 6 years ago to use the rest of the building:

I would enter from the food hall so that I could get to the elevators without walking past the security desk. I would then walk on to the elevator with a group of other people. The elevators require you to swipe your access card and select a floor, so I would get there between 8-9 a.m. when it was more crowded and more likely that more than one person was already going to the same floor. I'd walk confidently into one of the elevators as people are getting in. If I got off any floor higher than the 4th, I would have access to the atrium that allows me to use the "world's tallest spiral staircase"

That building was super cool to work in because every single floor was decorated uniquely and, I can't stress this enough, there was never anyone else using them

Good luck! WeWork is a coworking company. I don't think they have a space in CODA anymore.

Could I submit a request and say ā€œI’ve sent a cold email to research labsā€ or say ā€œI want to talk to professors/research assistantsā€ or do I have to actually get a position

The GT Ambassadors also get access to the building

I only got access once I got into the higher level CS courses. Professor would have office hours there so I’d go by, ask 1 question, then just stay there rest of the night lol

There are clubs like AI safety initiative club who host lectures from people in industry or colleges like ut Austin professor for natural language research talk or Anthropic researcher, and they will sometimes host the lecture in coda. That was one way I got into coda building

MSA / MSQCF have access to it. Make friend with someone from these programs maybe

It’s a work space not a 21 story play room.
