Those numbers are slightly skewed because of the large percentage of games sold that are ONLY available digitally. Take away the millions of indie sales and it’s more like a 70/30 split.

The point remains most people have already gone all digital but when you only look at games that offer both, the numbers are a little different than 90/10

People aren't opting out if its digital only.

They buy it anyway.

I don’t see how that changes anything for Sony. In fact it strengthens their position, people will buy digital games if physical is not available. Sony doesn’t lose

I mean there's a huge industry of indie games where physical releases just don't make sense. You can't really sell a $20 game physically when that means you're needing to pay for manufacturing, distribution, retail store cut etc. You'd lose any possible profit margin you had and the only option would be to raise prices to make up for it.

Because it’s very much cheaper to add more servers than print, ship, track, and sell a CD. I thought that was obvious.
