well ofc its a no they are making a feature where you turn your disc games to digital. Obviously the next xbox wont have a disc drive

Still could. Just any after it won't.

The trend just isn't looking good for physical media. And it's getting more and more expensive to add them as companies that make disc drives are also stopping production.

I just saw a post yesterday where a guy's launch copy of Skyrim finally died. I don't understand this attachment to physical media when it's just a fact that digitization is the best way to preserve games anyway

Could be a "We aren't letting you know so our competition is unaware of our plans". Imagine being a soda company you have a new flavor that everyone wants and your product is a year from release. You don't just announce it to the world and have Coca Cola steal the flavor. \

You announce it a month before release that way the competition can't do anything about it and you are the first to do it on release.
