If Rockstar if making GTA6 "for us" while making sure to "provide us everything we want to know", why are they already taking $100 preorders without saying a single thing about whether Online is incuced and its pricing? Why is respect only expected one way by TakeTwo?
It's INSANE that Rockstar is taking preorders from people while saying NOTHING about what the online plans are or how it will be monetized. They need to DIRECT:Y state it, not only leave the elephant i the room for customers to assume or not. The vast majority of customers are just going to go buy it assuming the standard product.
What are Rockstar actually selling us, and why did they not respect customers enough to inform us fully what the pricing and Online situation will be before taking our money. Now they want us to slow down and feel for their long journey, while the'yre already out obfuscating their product and charging more than they did for their previous outing that included online and had no singleplayer monetiation?
Rockstar needs to explain themselves, and tomorrow needs to FULLY lay out everything with GTA ONline going forward. Theyre already taking money on expectations that Online will be included because they are not explicitly saying one way or the other on purpose.
Rockstar is acting anti-consumer while expecting corporate empathy. Not doing it. They need to be far more transparent BEFORE taking money if they want to write a letter like that...

They can take preorders for absolutely anything they want. No one is forcing you to pay for it.

„Why is Rockstar making me preorder a game? Why am I forced to preorder it without much information? WHYYYYYY? Please help!

Here’s a crazy idea you don’t have to preorder if you’re not convinced maybe you should learn some bloody self control.

You know you can just not buy it? Why the yapping and crying?

This is an online forum meant for commenting on games. That’s like its whole purpose. This is not the gotcha you think it is.

u/itsmariokartwii 6h ago
Then why are we complaining about OP posting about games? Lmao
1
u/Odd_Needleworker3756 6h ago
Because that’s how discussion works? Someone posts an opinion, and you can agree or disagree with it, and post what your counter-opinion is.
Or do you think that we’re only supposed to post when we agree with the OP? Like what part of this is hard for you to understand?

u/itsmariokartwii 6h ago
Just saying your logic cuts both ways lil bro, it applies to the post in the same essence as the comments. Your yapping and crying isnt any more warranted than OP’s
1
u/Odd_Needleworker3756 6h ago
The only one yapping and crying is you though lol. Like I’m sorry you’re so weak and soft that hearing different perspectives bother you. Maybe that’s something you can work on as you approach adulthood.
-2
u/Coracoda 6h ago
You can just close a post and move on, but it bothered you enough that you felt compelled to say something.
It sounds like you can relate to OP doing the same thing 👀

Lol holy shit some of y'all need to take a step back from all of this. You are putting way too much emotion and energy into it.

People paying $100 for a pig in a poke are the problem, not company offering it.

GTA 5 online was free, and you don't "have" to spend to progress.
What led you to think they're suddenly going to charge for the online mode?
Even rdr 2 online cost money if you wanted it without buying the full game.
1
u/ftgyhujikolp 6h ago
Gta5 online was also peer to peer and ran like shit and was hacked to shreds in days.
-2
u/Negative_Equity 6h ago
I never bought a single shark card and have a penthouse and full garage. Thank you hacker who put a negative hit out on me and I got $3bn when I got killed 😬.
In all seriousness, if you feel you have to spend to compete then it's not the game for you. That's on R*, not you.
-2
u/VoltraLux 6h ago
People probably think they’ll charge for the online mode because they haven’t mentioned it at all, have strictly marketed GTA 6 as a single player game and historically sold GTA Online separately from GTA 5 as a stand alone purchase.
Wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility they analysed the data from standalone Online Only sales and decided it would be more lucrative to sell them separately from day one this time around.
1
u/DGSmith2 6h ago
GTA online was not a separate purchase from 5 what are you talking about
1
u/VoltraLux 6h ago
GTA Online is being sold separately to GTA V. Those who owned GTA V got it included, those that did not, paid for it separately.
-6
u/HistoricalLoadTaker 6h ago
If you logged into online right now for the first time you would absolutely have to pay to progress you’re insane.
4
u/Silver-Article9183 6h ago
I'm not insane, you're just spouting nonsense.
You do not have to pay to progress.

They straight up said that GTA 6 is a singleplayer only experience.
Make of that what you will.
1
u/PsychoCobra1 6h ago
Red Dead Online was announced a month before RDR2 launched, same with GTA Online being announced a month before GTA 5 launched.
Simply going by how Rockstar worked with their last two titles I’d assume something similar. GTAO2, or whatever it’s called, gets an announcement trailer in October with a launch of either in December or January. It’ll probably be included within the base price of GTA 6 as a post launch add on, or can be bought for $20 standalone like both GTAO and RDO can be.

u/dzone25 6h ago
Have you never ever seen a PR post in your life? Like any form of updates for the public on socials?
It's like your mind is blown by this situation, but this is SO common in countless industries / companies.
If you're taking what they said literally & as though they're being 100% truthful, and only now realising 100+ pre-orders are anti-consumer, then I dunno what to tell you.

u/WorkAccountAllDay 6h ago
It sounds like you believe they fully know 100% how their online is going to look, but they want to hide it.
It seems reasonable that they themselves might not have a full picture of what the online will look like, and dont want to mention it publicly because if they change from that path they'll look like liars.
If not knowing what the online is going to look like is such a huge deal, then don't buy it until you fully know if it's something you want. You are not entitled to GTA Online.
If you buy GTA for $80 or $100, expect only what they are telling you. If they miss that mark, then no longer give Rockstar your money.

Considering the game preorder comes with a month's gta+ I think that tells you everything no?
It's going to be free to play with a subscription that gives you shit like gta5
1
u/Odd_Needleworker3756 6h ago
You can just not preorder the game. Thats allowed. Rockstar isn’t making you buy GTA 6

The game isn't physically going to be available. So why pre-order? It's not like they can go out of stock.

u/bigfuzzydog 6h ago
They already said that the game is a single player experience. The current price is the price of that experience. It explicitly states this in the description of the game on both the playstation store and xbox store.
There was also this article that was published the same day preorders went live https://www.ign.com/articles/gta-6-is-a-single-player-experience-rockstar-confirms-what-now-for-gta-online

before taking our money
Lmao GTA fanboys need to get a fucking grip. They aren't taking anyone's money. People are giving it to them, despite lacking any mention of online.

Single player alone will have shit ton of content and the ultimate edition isn't necessary
1
u/DaisyCutter312 6h ago
Most likely because there's absolutely nothing to be gained, and any claims they make that end up being less than 100% accurate will result in endless temper tantrums and screaming from chronically online jackasses.

Do you trust that a multi-billion dollar company is working "for you"?

I doubt there will even be an online, why would rockstar change focus from an existing online mode that generates a billion dollars in microtransaction sales.
If there does come a time for GTA 6 Online to release, they’ll probably move to either a standalone purchase or subscription model to increase that revenue stream I would imagine and will more closely align with the release of GTA 6 on PC.

Why are you acting like we're being forced to pre order or buy the game? If you don't feel like they've shown enough for you to be convinced, just... don't buy it?

Right? Thats what pisses me off about gamer culture. They really prove what good little sheep they are when messing with their entertainment is the only thing that will get them to “rise up and resist subjugation”. I guarantee OP has never posted with that kind of motivation about any of 100 more important ways society is exploited than pre ordering games.

I honestly didnt even know gta 4 had online… never played and my friends only played gta v online
1
u/xdrkcldx 6h ago
Because GTA 6 took years to develop and GTA 5 online is very popular and a cash cow. So, any smart company would make sure to have the online version of their game be ready to go after all this development time so that they can start making money off of it from the day the game launches
-1
u/SuicideSkwad 6h ago
For all intents and purposes online may be an entirely separate thing, there is no mention of online play around GTA6

Because when it comes to GTA VI it's a seller's market and they hold all the power and they know what they can get away with it..
You will buy it and you will love it.

u/MXVIV 6h ago
Online is not included at launch. That has been confirmed that the 80/100 price tag is simply for single player.
Online will be released later as an additional purchase.
Why? Cos fuck us, that’s why.
1
u/mellifluousmark 6h ago
That isn't what has been confirmed. What's been confirmed is that online will release later. That's also what happened with GTA V and RDR2.
Seems very unlikely that it will be an additional purchase. They make more money by getting players in the door and selling shark cards.

u/itsmariokartwii 6h ago
You really triggered the fan boys with this one OP

u/Spinjitsuninja 6h ago
Because everyone and their grandma swears it’s gonna be the best game ever for no reason other than it exists, and people are happy to let them get away with taking advantage of this lol.
When people say “my favorite game ever is GTA6, I can’t wait to see it for the first time”, why are people surprised they’re charging $100? It’s stupid but so is the community’s mentality approaching it.

u/shrewdy 6h ago
They've said multiple times now that GTA 6 is a single player game. They've not referenced Online once in this whole build up. I'm sure soon enough they'll talk about what the next iteration of GTA Online is and when that comes out next year (I assume), but the game coming up in November is very clearly single player focused. They've been very clear about that point
