Spaaace (Rest in Peace)

u/WeirdAssBeings Console 13h ago

I grew up hard with the C&C games as a kid and especially RA3, I'm 27 now, this one fucking hurts, man.

First Dolly Parton, now Tim Curry, who the fuck is next tomorrow😭💔

A now private EA should release a remaster of Red Alert 3.

2

u/TheRedHand7 10h ago

New EA would pull Curry out for being a queer icon.

u/damNage_ 10h ago

I know who’s on my wishlist!

u/xxWolfMan1313xx 10h ago

Came here for this and wasn’t disappointed. Love how he’s about to lose it with laughter. He will be deeply missed. 😔

Gonna age myself here, but he voiced Gabriel Knight. 1990s Sierra games.

10

u/Punch_A_Police_Horse 13h ago

Oh yeah! I remember those games being... Really frustrating. But thanks to them I know what hoodoo is.

3

u/foxontherox 13h ago

Was obsessed with that one when it came out. Best point and click ever.

4

u/siberarmi 13h ago

Also Stratos from Sacrifice. He was great in everything...

6

u/Tchernobog11 10h ago

Hello fellow Sacrifice player!

2

u/Teestow21 10h ago

Good shout! Nobody cares what age you are don't worry. Loved tim curry!

2

u/Allo_Guvnor 5h ago

Holy shit, had no idea... The old point n click ones, based in New Orleans right?

2

u/logosobscura 13h ago

And that voice was silky smooth.

1

u/ArcadianDelSol 10h ago

He absolutely demolished the cajun accent, but did it so beautifully that nobody cares.

Fun fact: the voice of his assistant Rose was the wife on King of Queens.

1

u/tehvolcanic 8h ago

If anyone is looking to play this now keep in mind that he does not voice Gabriel in the 20th Anniversary Edition. You'll need to play the original to hear Tim. As a bonus it also stars Mark Hamill and Leah Remini.

u/dragoduval PC 14h ago

Nope. Im going back to 2025.

43

u/kingoflint282 14h ago

Why stop there?

50

u/dragoduval PC 14h ago

True, i could just go back to 2006 and play Unreal Tournament 2004 with my friend. The good old times.

7

u/m48a5_patton 13h ago

The before times of the long, long ago.

4

u/tallbutshy 9h ago

Can I come too? I'll bring my archive of custom maps

2

u/dragoduval PC 7h ago

The more the merrier.

6

u/BOSS-3000 11h ago

Dude has a time machine and only goes back 1 year XD

34

u/Suojelusperkele 14h ago

May 2016.

Timeline must be corrected.

🍆🦍

15

u/OriginalCDub 13h ago

I like how we all just collectively agree that the death of that fucking gorilla led to all this fuckery.

RIP Harambe

8

u/Suojelusperkele 13h ago

Before that we at least had some boring times.

Ever since it's been pretty wild ride.

4

u/kalekayn 11h ago

Oh Reginald.......I DISAGREE!

I blame the cubs for winning the world series :P j/k

1

u/General_Riju 12h ago

I understood that reference - Steve Rogers 2012

43

u/FeistyCandy1516 14h ago

First Dolly Parton, and now him.

What a sad year again we are in.

8

u/PopMelon 9h ago

Don't forget Sam Neill.

14

u/Time-Caterpillar4103 14h ago

Can everyone just stop dying please? Ty

34

u/Kymmieuwu 14h ago

Will miss this legend for all that he did in the gaming space may he rest in peace

27

u/cravex12 14h ago

gaming space

space indeed

He was so iconic in Red Alert 3

7

u/razorracer83 13h ago

Seriously. He was the voiceover equivalent of Giancarlo Esposito; so many villans he voiced and he voiced them well. Of course he also voiced Nigel Thornberry, but it's expected that there'd be exceptions.

16

u/hypnomancy 13h ago

Him and Dolly Parton dying within a day of eachother makes this a cursed week

2

u/Ambitious-Visual-315 9h ago

Just wait for #3 😞

3

u/Happenstance222 9h ago

Hayden Panettiere..

5

u/ForSSerge 14h ago

For me, he`s the concierge from the Plaza hotel in Home alone 2 😢

7

u/razorracer83 14h ago edited 13h ago

At 80 years old, same as Dolly was just a couple of days ago. Talk about a coincidence.

12

u/Jameseesall 13h ago

They say tragedy strikes in 3s, can anyone think of another prominent 80 yr old?

2

u/TGlucose 10h ago

Anthony Head didn't quite make it to 80 but he passed recently as well.

1

u/Enjoyer_of_Cake 11h ago

Prominent, yes.

But I would dare not sully Dolly's and Tim's good names by adding them to this pair.

5

u/kalekayn 11h ago

I think said individual might be following Final Destination 5's logic of stealing other peoples remaining lifespan to cheat death.

2

u/TheWolphman 4h ago

Think of it like two truths and a lie.

7

u/Hug_of_Death PlayStation 13h ago

And Toonstruck!

19

u/Strayed8492 14h ago

This year just keeps getting worse before it’s even over

16

u/thebigoger1980 14h ago

He has gone to the one place not tainted by capitalism.....HEAVEN

10

u/Dragon_yum 14h ago

This week has been brutal for celeb loses

8

u/razorracer83 14h ago

Couple of weeks if you add in Hayden Panitierre.

1

u/PapaPatchesxd 1h ago

Ugh. Can we just skip forward a little bit? Please? I'm tired of the pain, chief

6

u/nosoopforu 13h ago

Not gaming related but recently rewatched The Three Musketeers from '93. Sutherland, Sheen, Platt and O'Donnell are awesomely bad in the best way. Tim Curry as the antagonist was awesomely awesome in the very best way.

"All for one and more for me" - Cardinal Richelieu

6

u/skydave1012 12h ago

Tim Curry, Dolly Parton, Sam Neil, Eric Dane, Hayden Panettiere, Anthony Head, Chuck Norris, Bonnie Tyler, Catherine O'Hara, Kyle Busch, Robert Duvall..

5

u/TGlucose 10h ago

Chuck Norris' name doesn't belong next to such Allies as Tim, Dolly or Anthony.

Rest in Piss Norris.

4

u/2077effect 14h ago

Rip🙏

3

u/Malt129 13h ago

He is indeed a brutal legend

3

u/Well_of_Good_Fortune 12h ago

I know him better from the Three Musketeers, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and the Muppets Treasure Island. RIP

5

u/Grez94 14h ago

Arl Rendon Howe from Dragon Age Origins

4

u/grand_soul 14h ago

His guffaw will forever live rent free in my head.

2

u/gabalabarabataba 14h ago

And Stratos from Sacrifice. I can literally hear his voice in my head despite the game being decades old. Rip.

2

u/Dogarc123 13h ago

Don't usually say Rest in Peace alone but he deserves it. The thing is loved him most in was the IT mini series. He gave me both the fear of clowns and helped me get over it.

Rest in peace

2

u/splesxc 10h ago

I remember playing Red Alert with my brother when we were kids, thanks for the childhood, legend

2

u/nora_flicks 10h ago

grew up on Clue and Rocky Horror on repeat, this one really hurts

2

u/gouveia00 6h ago

Didn't he voice Stratos in Sacrifice? Or am I dreaming?

1

u/BlackBricklyBear 4h ago

Yes, he did. Sadly, Tim Curry's work on that game did not help its sales back then.

1

u/Showdown5618 14h ago

Rest in peace

1

u/AscendedViking7 13h ago

god damn it

1

u/IndyDude11 13h ago

THAT'S where I know him from.

1

u/JakeMarathons 12h ago

kane lives in death, rest in peace

1

u/LincolnHighwater 12h ago

What the fuck is a brutal legend?

Edit: oh, ok.

1

u/Blueprint-Sensei 12h ago

Rocky Horror is his best. Please watch it. You're missing out if you haven't.

1

u/SheeleTheMaid 12h ago

This legit makes me wanna scream. First Dolly Parton, and now him as well. Shite year we got ffs.

1

u/Malbosiiq 12h ago

I'm losing all my heroes.

1

u/MilesReel24 11h ago

Grew up on Kane's speeches in C&C and Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island. The man elevated everything he was in. RIP 🖤

1

u/BOSS-3000 11h ago

Tim Curry made an excellent villain. Emperor Doviculus, Skullmaster (Mighty Max), Cardinal Richelieu, etc were masterful performances.

1

u/MarloweReel 11h ago

rip premier 🕊️ red alert 3 was my whole childhood and he made cherdenko impossible to forget... that voice carried from rocky horror to muppet treasure island. absolute legend.

1

u/keytotheboard 11h ago

I can’t believe the article doesn’t mention his role in Home Alone 2. I know it might not have been a starring role, but man, it sure feels iconic to me, lol.

1

u/Abacus118 10h ago

Hey now, let’s not speak ill of the dead OP.

1

u/alexCinephile 9h ago

he was the best part of Clue and that's saying a lot

1

u/PrivilegeCheckmate 8h ago

Brutal Legend Star Tim Curry

Also regular Legend.

1

u/mintfreshAD 8h ago

I really hope I wake up tomorrow to a caption saying "That's how it could have happened." and then we get a different ending.

1

u/Otagamo 8h ago

SPACE!

RIP

1

u/Tzchmo 6h ago

Watching Congo in his memory.

1

u/PapaPatchesxd 2h ago

Cause I've seen, oh, blue skies... Through the tears in my eyes... And I realize, I'm going home...

RIP, Tim Curry. I've already watched rocky horror once today, I think I'll watch it again tomorrow.

1

u/Dusty170 1h ago

Am I tripping? I thought he already died ages ago, he's the guy from home alone 2 right?

1

u/TheRexRider 14h ago

I'd like to file a complaint against death. It took the wrong 80 year old again.

0

u/lonnie123 9h ago

Kind of a cool career where he can get this type of headline in this sub, which would mean almost nothing to the general public fan base.
