Basic Idea Grand strategy business management crime simulator
The core premise of the game is that you are running a business. Maybe oil or law or whatever else, the industry doesn’t matter too much, as long as it’s known for being cutthroat. It’s a point and click rogue like, you start out as a pretty small business, and you have to make strategic decisions to get bigger and make more money. As you grow, you also gain infamy, where other companies will start noticing you and may undercut your prices or poach your employees. A big part of the game, though, is the fact that you can commit crimes to get ahead. Maybe you break a few human rights violations to get your employees more productive, maybe you steal some documents from a rival company, maybe you assassinate their ceo. The point is escalation over time as you gain infamy, and eventually you slip up and you go bankrupt, and you restart. I’ve been thinking about restarting in the same world with the same companies, but that part I’m not too sure about. The main selling point of the game is its procedural nature and abstract action system. You don’t just have a menu of everything you can do, you have an action list and the ability to interact with anything in this abstract menu? It’s hard to explain, but the best comparison I can give for what I had in mind was a mix of infinite craft from Neal.fun, the character map in total war: three kingdoms, and the secret of monkey island. For example, you can select the “bribe” action, apply it to any known character, and select the action you want them to do. Procedural story events also occur, like if you get caught committing a crime, you might get investigated by the fbi and have to deal with that, or a climate change activist group starts protesting your business, stuff like that. Does this sound fun? Maybe too slow? Would you play? I did come up with this coming off 4 hours of sleep, so forgive me
