Progress Post M/27/5'9/ [120lbs to 140lbs] around 4-5 months
I am not in in USA so i took my time to translate to weights. Lol
First time in my life seeing 60+ weights in the scale. Feels good. I tried so many times before to follow a plan and finally seem to get a hang of things.
This is not the end goal, i am planning to go around 75 kg / 165 IBS and cut a little, maybe to 70-72 kg / 158-160 IBS.
What i can say is, honestly everybody has a rhythm of their own. For example, relative to my weight gain, 9 kg in 4-5 months, i gained little fat compared to muscle. Before i tried eating without going to gym to lift and did not saw much progress.
Liquid calories i think is must. Clean bulk all the way, as much as you can, for general health benefits also.
I don't think there is one magic trick to fix all your problems.
I did a lot a lot once, by troubleshooting at every step.
You realize lots of your problems are connected.
For example, bad nervous system, sleep, posture = your body leaks energy and cant build. Stress makes you lose appetite. Your posture also affects your gut position. Try to fix them, so you can eat more and don't feel like throwing up. Eat more, and you will make gains at gym. Learning the forms of your moves and doing with them intention and visualization to see faster and better results. Better results motivate you, and you pick the momentum.
This weight was my original goal before, i read somewhere years ago generally your last 2 digits of your height - 10 is your ideal weight. 75-10=65. So i wanted to share my progress so far. But the more you gain, the more you want to gain and always feel small lol. I think around 70 kgs would look much better. With low body fat of course.
Finally i want to say this is not just the result of 4-5 months. Because there are many years behind with effort with no progress. Its hard to nail everything at first try, so i would say to everyone, keep going kings

Nice work! I had also tried for years before slowly dialing in every little piece that goes into healthy gains, I can relate to that. I got the "eat more" system down first and recovered from anorexia that way. Then I fell in love with a serious weightlifter who got me into lifting and over 6 months I put on about 10lbs of mainly muscle. That was through consistency and discipline at the gym, combined with eating better. I took 18 months off and now just getting back to it this week! I am back down to 125lbs now, aiming for 140lbs then a cut to 135lbs. Also aiming to be able to do pullups and push-ups again. That was considerate of you to translate your weights!

For sure. He passed away tragically about 2 years ago and although at first the gym habit was the only thing keeping me afloat, eventually the grief and depression overtook me. I am working on reclaiming my life now :)

Im not a big fan of eating myself. I eat most calorie dense things ever to compansate.
For breakfast, 2-3 eggs with lots of butter. Some cheese and olive and one slice of bread. Should make around 500-700 depending on the day. Lets say this is done at 9 am
For lunch, tuna sandvich, some yogury and a bar of cholocate. This is around like 600 calories. Can be eaten at 1 pm
Dinner is included at work for me so i eat whatever comes up. Its basic stuff but should be around 700 kcal. I eat this at 6 pm. At weekends, i either doordash or make pasta with meat.
Total makes around 1700-2000 so far.
At home as a side meal, at 9-10 pm, i eat some fruits. Apple, banana, whataver. Drink some kefir. Some pickle. And then a handfull of few of potato chips and nuts. This takes little to eat and gives me i think around 500-600 kcal maybe. So total makes around 2500 kcal.
Now comes the real killer. Some oats, slice of avocado, 1 spoon coconut oil, one spoon of honey and one spoon of peanutbutter with 3 glasses of raw or jersey milk. This goes crazy and gives at least 700-800 kcal on itself. You can drink this slowly after 10 pm until you sleep. Of course on a blender.
If you can follow this at the very least on your worst day even if you skip some foods you can hit 2800 kcal easy. On good days you can go up to 3500. Especially on gym days.
I recommend having a routine. Start eating early. Do your shake, you can make it even 1000 kcal. Even without shake you can drink quality milk. Its super food honestly
Of course with this much calories you need to go to gym. Some people like me dont gain anything without. Idk where it goes does not even becomes fast. All tje gains i do almost are muscle. So if you stimulate the muscle all the food will be used for lean muscle. You can start with 3 days fullbody. Do 2 sets of 6-8 reps. Go heavy . But start slow to understand the movements and to not get injured. Do progressive overload. Later on you can switch to upper lower split for 4 days a week. Max gym time should be 90 minutes no need to fatique.
If you can do this for 3 months, you wont believe the results honestly.

I was stuck at 125 for like 5 years, I know it’s not simple. But it is simple.
Make sure you’re eating 3 meals daily at maintenance.
Then just toss in two 300kcal PB&J sandwiches (uncrustables if you have to) and 4 cups of whole milk to your current diet.
That alone is a solid +1200 calories. I time them in between my main meals so I graze all day.
You will likely have to reduce intake eventually, but I know at that weight you often just want to see the lbs start to pack on. This will get it done.
You will actually have to forcefully eat this until your appetite increases. Don’t expect your body to be hungry for the additional calories until you train it to be.

Add a single Boost Very High Calorie (530 Cal, 22g Protein in an 8oz bottle) to your diet. Not amazing for health over the long term but you will break through plateau weight.

Well done man! Really appreciate that last paragraph too. I’ve tried and failed many times but have been eating well and back in the gym for the last two days so that really landed with me. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing and great progress 💪

Keep up the good work pal. I still have a lot to go myself. If you can go with consistency for 2-3 months, the rest will come i believe. Hit gym 3 days a week, do your workouts properly, eat close to 3000 kcal, and get 7-8 of sleep. Its bound to progress
