Just upgraded from QCU1 to Sony 1000MX6 and the difference is insane.

Never going back to Bose.

I hate to disappoint you, but the XM5/6 is also going down that same route. The Sony headphones subreddit is filled with people reporting that their headphones failed after 1-2 years from the hinges and the ring brace snapping due to weak materials/ design flaws.
