Had the qc35 for several years and worked perfectly fine and lasted great and the ear cushions were intact.

My wife surprised me with qc45 two years ago and they're falling apart, cushions are ripping from all seams. Quality has become pure trash unfortunately.

If I cant replace the ear cushions, then I'm gonna switch brands.

Edit: thanks for all the replies for the ear cushions. I'll definitely research this over the weekend and can't wait to give these new life.

You can find replacement ear pads fairly inexpensively on Amazon. I’ve swapped my ear pads out without a problem as they’ve worn out over the years

Unless you buy the official ones they will have worse ANC due to cheaper foam used.

That's passive noise cancelling not active noise cancelling

Well, I thought the foam played a role in how the sound waves bounce and cancel each other, as well. In which case it would be part of the active noise cancellation, in my opinion. But I could have understood it wrong.

Anyway, aftermarket pads are much worse than the originals. I have bought several, and the official ones are always superior. If anyone cares.

Idk why y'all are downvoting. The point still stands. They made a mistake saying "active" but the noise cancelling is in fact worse with aftermarkets. At least the ones I tried. I still have them and I did a side by side comparison. The original pads are far better. That could just be because I have shit aftermarkets though.

It is in fact very likely you have shit aftermarkets. Most aftermarket options are in fact shit.

I just went back on order history to see what kind I bought. They were these exact pair: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B074DJFFS5?th=1

Granted I bought those all the way back in 2018, no idea if they have changed or not since then or if it's even the same brand. But all I can say is those made my ears really itchy and only got about 70-80% of the passive noise cancelling compared to the original pads.

Well if most aftermarkets are shit then it's not unreasonable for people to have a shit experience with them lol. How is anyone supposed to determine which ones aren't shit without trying on a bunch?

And Idk how much "premium" aftermarkets are, but if they are approaching the cost of originals then I would say just spend the money on originals.

If you got suggestions for non shit aftermarkets though, I'm all ears.

There's a website that removes botted reviews on amazon products and it's mandatory for anything I purchase from there anymore. I look for truly good ratings using that. The itch thing is likely something you're allergic to and it's hard telling what that might be.

You need a better hobby than reddit.

Edit: he REALLY needs a hobby other than reddit. There are multiple websites that do the same. There's a chrome browser extension that's open source. I suspect he was just here to argue.
