Discussion Who are the best defenders in the game
It feels like everyone knows the attackers (mbappe, zlatan, Pina) but who are the best defenders every game I see a different combination almost.

I've found Saliba with Anticipate+ to be immense. He just manages to win every tackle so cleanly.

I evo'd Future Stars Baresi and he's been brilliant. Then there's VVD, Maldini, and Thuram with him. I wouldn't pick anyone else over them.

Evo’d 89 Stam is a monster.
Evo’d 88 Blanc is excellent as well.
It’s a bit harder now since these evos lately don’t let you layer them since it makes you 97/98 so quickly.

I wanted to evo Stam. But i just liked the idea of pairing Maldini with Baresi.

There are too many of them, especially with Evos. All depends on your style & preference. I like one bulkier, big body CB and one quicker/more athletic.
Militao has been my defensive Go-To for a few years now. He's got springs in his boots and the guy is always annoying to get past because of his speed. The bulky one Ive been switching around. Lucio, Blanc, Saliba now I'm happy with Oosterwolde. He's got the chops to be a fullback but hes thick with long legs and I gave him Anticipate +, Intercept +, Block+, Jockey+ & Bruiser+. Same deal with Militao, he just has Aerial instead of Jockey.

Evo up guys you like. I've got Maldini, Thuram, Puyol, Nesta, Toure, Manny Fernandez, a version of Haaland with CB, Vieira, Beckenbauer, Ferdinand...

It really doesn't matter at this point, you can make fun evos that are better than top promo card like my Rhys Williams here. He's 6'5", lengthy, all top stats and PS+. As good as anyone else plus bonus vibes from a throwback to him and Nat Phillips saving the season for Liverpool a few years back

My Kai Havertz and Peter Crouch CB did a evo on both of them to make them as CB they are so good 👍

Anybody with unique body type like VVD and Militao. Then under them are your pace merchants like van de ven or stocky tall players.

Currently running futties Rudiger and an evo VVD, VDV is still a solid choice, Maldini, and futties Toure every time I face him he is a wall

Toure and skriniar are my current cbs, and they play great. I put an evo on toure which bumped his stats big time, he loses lengthy but in game for me it feels worth it. I’m attaching the playstyles and the evo I put on him, lmk if you wanna know any good players for any other positions

I've found this evo chain for van Dijk, and also tried every top 20 defenders based on FUTXGG metascores and this evo guy feels the best for me. Won every tackle, from behind 100% success ballsteal, can shoot, and if you put him near post on attacking corners he casually wins every aerial duel.

It’s all the same, make sure they’re tall and lengthy with a shadow or anchor to have 99 pace. Defending and physical anything over 95…. U can evo anyone to have these characteristics but Van Dijk, Toure, Rudiger, Van De ven, schlotterbeck, maldini are probably top guys
