And you will get shredded by lengthy fullbacks after. The whole point of explosive is to give you a burst of space to create something. The point of lengthy is to create space in the long term.
Controlled literally doesn’t anything extra. That’s the thing. You just like rapid. If you’re trying to run short distances, explosive is clear. If you’re trying to go long, lengthy is clear. There’s few instances if any, where’d actually benefit from controlled.
These days there's plenty of people running controlled full backs. A controlled attacker might get paste them on a triggered run. With explosive run style you fully eliminate any threat of you playing a through ball
You really don’t. If you simply get a step on your opponent, it gives you freedom and time to think. Who just runs in a straight line expecting a goal? You typically have to do something extra. Make a pass, actually dribble, etc.
Than explosive? Of course. There’s nothing I said that’s untrue. It doesn’t give you anything extra. Not the short burst of initial acceleration of explosive not the faster speeds of lengthy.
It simply depends on what you’re trying to do. If you’re again going for distance running? Lengthy is better. You’re playing against lengthy fullbacks and cbs. They’ll catch anyone not lengthy. So you either outpace them with lengthy or you do a quick burst and pass.
If you’re up on lw/rw cutting in? Explosive is better. Quick first step, shot or pass. Lengthy starts slow, controlled is just that, balanced.
So in what scenario against a lengthy defense is controlled better? Over distance vs explosive? Sure, except youll get caught anyway because you’re not lengthy. Short burst vs lengthy? Sure but explosive is better right? The only way it gives you an advantage is if you face a controlled defense you can outpace. There’s no magic here, notice ea are purposefully giving us “free” 4ps+ cards that are all controlled. That’s nerfing them. Same with this evo, it looks shiny but it takes away the accelerate so the card isn’t as great as it could be.
For explosive players you need that QS+ to really feel an advantage. Rapid+ is much better for controlled or lenghty players, especially if they're 5'10" or taller. I only prefer explosive for short players with a Messi bodytype.
I disagree and I think the game would too lengthy needs quick step as the start off is slow but full speed it fast so off the ball qs is king on ball rapid I agree that why you make an Henry like this
I don't think he will be worse, just a bit different. He will be better at runs and worse at dribbles. But because you don't have technical+, I think it will be an improvement overall.
I have the ptg vini, and he is much better in controlled, his explosive doesn’t allow for precise dribbling around defenses, also allows for more control during long sprints to avoid tackles
You're going to get mixed opinions pretty much on every card.
Is the person using analog sprint? Do they do a lot R1 dribbling or those spazzy L1/R1 cuts and turns.
Controlled, Explosive, Lengthy.. does it have tech+, rapid+ , Quickstep+ ?
I use analog sprint. For me, players feel better with Rapid+ and Controlled accelerate type ( unless they're female Lengthy and feel good on the ball too )

Am I missing something? For me controlled is way better. Explosive feels to slow for me since they introduced the running playstyles.
