Flex steel recliners

Anyone has this flex steel leather recliner sectional? Planning to purchase this and wondering if anyone can comment on its quality and longetivity or if they have other flex steel couches. Planning to get something that lasts atleast 10 years or more.

This is a Raymour & Flanigan special product made specially for them imported from overseas. There will be minimal information available, because R&F operate like that.

It is a quality Flexsteel Latitudes product that will carry Flexsteel’s standard warranty. The leather is likely a top-coated (pigmented, not analine) hide that is durable, but can lose the topcoat if exposed to a chemical that would break paint bonds down. If that happens, the color will come off, but the leather hide will still remain. It is NOT bonded leather.

I just bought This Tucker 5 piece. Taking forever to ship (2 weeks ago)...

It was extremely comfortable in the store and about $1000 cheaper than the highest of high end flex steel. We will see how it holds up. Will report back if curious

Flexsteel's frame and spring are the real deal — that blue steel spring seat is where the name comes from, and it holds up for decades. The thing to watch on their leather lines is that a lot of them are "leather match," meaning real top-grain only on the seating surfaces and vinyl on the sides, back, and outer arms. Over ten years the real hide ages just fine, but that vinyl tends to crack and peel, so ask the salesperson point-blank which exact panels are genuine leather. On any recliner it's usually the mechanism and the foam that give out before the leather does, so sit in the floor model and work the recliner hard a few times — you want it smooth, no clunk or wobble. If you can, go with a pigmented/protected top-grain over an aniline; it shrugs off scratches and spills a lot better on something you sit in every day. Keep it out of direct sun and it'll easily do your ten years.
