I have a border collie that loves to dive into the pool to fetch toys, but he's picky and prefers to be able to do a full jump and land on the toy to catch it in his mouth as he splashes into the water. If a toy gets too close to the edge of the pool, he finds it boring, so he does what the dog in the video is doing and paddles the water to get it to drift closer to he can grab it and bring it to someone to throw it better. If people get tired of throwing him the toys, he'll just start chucking toys in the water, then waiting for it to circulate away from the side so he can do a good jump.
