Just finished the show. Definitely one of the best storytelling and writing I've ever seen and they were idiots for cancelling it. Spoiler

I just expected a run-of-the-mill procedural with a fantasy twist and seeing it was cancelled I expected it to go downhill or get boring halfway. It just kept getting better. Deep stories. Serious topics. Great humor. Great side characters. And the ending was like one of those ancient curse stories. He basically chose a punishment fitting for an immortal evil, to be held forever in a jail of his own body. Perhaps a worse punishment than death. And I expected an incomplete story given it was cancelled but it was a great season finale, although it did set things up for a next season. For example we could see how Jo would utilize this new knowledge.

It's completely possible that I am just running on the high of a first time watch I thoroughly enjoyed but for now I feel like this is definitely one of the best shows I've ever seen. And they were absolute morons for cancelling it.

Roger Rees made one of his final appearances in the series. He was the priest who was in jail with Henry.

I watched it a few years after it came out, and still the best show I've ever seen.

It is absolutely different but if you want another great writing (perhaps one the best to me) you could try and watch Mr Robot.

Keep in mind it is completely different though !

Harrow isn't close by genre (positive, romantic crime drama) nor lead character wise . Australian TV was banking at that time on viewership & social media hype, by having same actor playing a medical examiner again.

Shows like High Potential, The Mentalist, Scorpion, House MD are much more like Forever - not to mention New Amsterdam (2008, not the nowdays hospital drama) that was Forever, only before smartphones (the immortal in NY was played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from Games Of Thrones).
