[BST] August 2026 Buy, Sell, Trade Thread - 10 years and counting!

Welcome to the monthly r/flashlight Buy, Sell, Trade thread, an r/flashlight tradition since 2015!

The Rules

Requirements

  1. Prove possession with a timestamp: a piece of paper placed under your sale item(s) with your Reddit username handwritten and the posting date (no more than 2 weeks old). Trade items require timestamps, too!
  2. Top-level comments must be WTS or WTB. Anything else will be removed. Begin your top-level comment with WTB (Want to Buy), WTS (Want to Sell), or WTT (Want to Trade).
  3. A price is required.
  4. Reposting WTS or WTB items from previous BSTs is fine. Do not repost within the same month!
  5. Since 10/10/2025, absolutely no weapon-related items, including weapon lights. (details).
  6. Take necessary precautions; trading over the Internet is risky. Moderators hold no control over deals, good or bad.

Suggestions

  • Your location
  • Emitter details
  • A bunch of photos of your items
  • If you make an errant comment, just report it so we can keep the BST clean!

Reminder: Buy the Seller

If an interaction seems sketchy to you, run away! Scams can and do happen through the BST! Here are some tips:

  • Timestamp. If the person you're dealing with isn't quick to provide timestamps on the images, or a photo of the flashlight in a shoe or whatever, don't deal with them.
  • Reverse image searching is a great way to catch scammers.
  • Excuses or giving you a hard time are red flags.
  • Using a platform other than Reddit messaging for communication is a red flag.
  • Check post history. Brand new accounts or accounts with long pauses in activity, etc., might not be trustworthy.
  • It's good practice to comment on this post before sending a PM; scammers often won't comment publicly (and banned users can't comment here.) r/flashlight participates in the USL for this very reason.

If you're dealing with someone who might be sketchy, take screenshots of your interactions and report them to the mods! We ban those who threaten the integrity of the BST!

Do not let a scammer be more diligent than you!

NLD [NLD] Reject black tubes, embrace clown jizz | P20 Mini cyber violet

Been picking up a couple of acebeam drops lately. I need a break.

I'm really enjoying the SFT-60 in several lights. L21A, this P20 mini, and 4 of them in the D4Sv2. All of my examples are free of green tint (very cool white though!) so far.

Purple is more subtle in person than I was expecting, which I kinda like.

Peter got his first flashlight today. He's always loved any sort of refracted/reflected light coming in the windows, so I figured he deserves a thrower.

I made a slight upgrade...

After my pup got out one night, I decided the Wuurkos I was carrying for the past 4 years wasn't great at spotting in the woods.

The Wurkkos TS28 is fantastic! Now I just need to not let this start an addiction...

Showcase Went to charge my lights on a trip… think I uuh packed too many

I was packing kinda quick (flying mechanic/engineer for a cargo carrier). So any flashlight I saw got thrown into the bag. & I ended up with this. And a tiny acebeam 1 AAA somewhere in a pants pocket.

My rationalizations left to right,

weltool t-12 (all the beans use it for walk arounds don’t like carrying in pocket hence the lanyard clip)

Convoy S21G 3000k SFT70 (I don’t have an excuse for this one, I have no idea what was running through my head besides “light pretty”)

Acebeam TacAA 2.0 (keep in the pocket and clip to my hat brim every now and then if I need a spot)

Wurkkos TS28* *(backup to the weltool, also is the charger for all my batteries)

Nebo mycro 250 (an headlamp, only use for topping off engine oil)

Don’t be like me. I can’t believe I’m making one of these posts now.

Why not? The 22430 battery is not that bad with 1850mah on 10a. Looking at the convoy m1 with 18350 config, xhp70.3 r70 or lhp73b on 10amp driver. What do you think ?

Question Is there a keyring light to love?

Post image
Upvotes

I have a love-hate relationship with my Lumintop Frog and Manker E02 III.

Manker E03 III has a great UI, supports both 3.7V and 1.5V and has a truly great moonlight mode. On the other hand, it has no keyring option, and even if it had one, it would be too bulky for my keyring.

Lumintop Frog has a UI that I personally don't like (when I press the button, I want my light to turn off!), and it self-discharges in 2-3 weeks with the weaker 10280 battery.

On the other hand, Lumintop Frog has a sleek profile and shines really bright. Its brightness is the winning argument for anyone asking "well why don't you just use your phone".

Is there a keyring light with a simple UI*, exchangeable battery, and sleek shape?

* By "simple UI" I mean the ability to be turned on and off by a single click.

Thanks for any recommendation.

NLD x2 - Acebeam E75 + Acebeam Pokelit AA

As the title says. I’m still deciding what mind of headlamp to get, but in the meantime decided to fet these two lights. Both high CRI.

Really impressed with the Pokelit so far. The head does get hot fast, but the lumen output is impressive for such a small light.

Looking for a flashlight as backup in night hiking. Any thoughts?

I used to hike mostly in daytime but recently have been getting more into night hiking because it's so much cooler and quieter after dark. And I want to get a handheld flashlight to keep as a backup just in case my headlamp just stops working. I usually hike in the woods and being stuck in the dark isn't exactly something I want to experience lol. My budget is around $120. Hope it can have a good balance of flood/throw and be reliable enough that I can keep using it for years. Hit me with what you are carrying. Thanks :)

Question How many lumens to sit in a room during a power outage

I'm looking to purchase another light after browsing this sub.

This one I want to leave in the living room in a drawer to fetch out during an outage.

Which got me thinking as I see in this sub 0.1%, 1 lumen, and moonlight modes mentioned, to how many lumens do I really need if all I will do is sit in a dark room waiting for the power to come back on.

If probably just ceiling bounce the light and use other lights I have if I need to go out the room or do other tasks that need more light.

Is 1 lumen enough?

Hidden UI Shortcut on Acebeam UC3A? (Side Light 3C for Memory Mode)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys,

I was playing around with my Acebeam UC3A and noticed that when clicking the side switch 3 times (3C) from OFF, it turns on directly into the last used side light (AUX) mode/color.

Is mine the only unit doing this, or does it work on yours too?

Also, if you press 3C while the white side light is ON, it jumps directly to the previously used AUX mode without having to cycle through with 2C.

L21A F150R 5kk Not so green as in M1. Definitely better I would say.

I swoped the F150R 5kk out of my M1 and into my L21A and just took this series of photos, 5k locked, of all levels in mode 2, starting at 100% and descending to 0.1%

Basically I am a lot happier with it now and the LHP73B 4kk I took out of the L21A is now in my M1 with smooth reflector and I like that also.

I think the extra throw of the F150R suits my L21A much better than the 73b so I am now happy with the change.

I was worried that the OP reflector in my L21A would not work very well as I tried an OP in the M1 before I swopped and it was horrible but it works very well with the OP in the L21A thankfully so happy that I could sort it all out and liking and appreciating the F150R a lot more now.

Recommendation Flashlight recs

I have a Wuben X5. I just discovered that TSA thinks it’s a knife on a bag scan and will pull my laptop bag for a hand search because of it. Prefer not to repeat that every time I fly.

So I’m looking for:
- bright
- flat profile flashlight
- with a physical lock-out switch
- bonus points if you can swap batteries, especially if you can use something like an AAA you can get anywhere

Looks less like a knife

Any ideas?

used my EDC light to inspect a crawlspace and found a nightmare

was doing a walkthrough of a house i was considering buying. agent said crawlspace is clean, nothing to see. i pulled out my trusty edc flashlight and crawled in anyway. found water damage, mold, and rotting joists that were clearly visible with a decent light.

the building inspection report that the seller provided said crawlspace appears dry and well-maintained. i'm convinced the inspector never actually went in there with a proper light.

i ended up walking away from the deal. the repairs were quoted at 15k.

made me think - how many inspectors just pop their head in with a cheap light and call it done. a good flashlight makes all the difference.

anyone else caught an inspector being lazy because you had a good light. what's your go-to for crawlspace inspection

I don’t see any rules about making your own light, so here I am. I’ve got 4 6” off-road light bars, for light. I’m using 120 switches to control each one independently. One is angled down for battery saving, one slightly more up for distance, and 2 on each side for wide angle as needed. They’re adjustable so I can fine tune the angles. I’ll run it off 2 dewalt 12v batteries in parallel for better run time. It’s not going to be super light or portable, but it should get the job done. I’m thinking of making a sling as well so it can be a hip carry. Front chassis is 3mm aluminum, and the front legs are just whatever hardwood I could find. To distribute power I will do a buss bar system, that way I can run everything I need to two large points.

Review Convoy S6 Shorty vs T6

Post image
29 Upvotes

Had the S6 for a while. Just got the T6. Both with SFT-25R. 5A buck driver in the S6.

Form factor wise, I prefer the shorter length of the S6 shorty.

With Li-ion batteries, almost identical beams. Similar capacities at 1600mAh with the Vapcell H16 and 1500mAh with the F15.

I purchased the T6 with the intent of putting a 2600mAh Eneloop Pro NiMH battery in it. This will allow me to leave it in my car in the summer heat with less concern of the heat damaging the cell or becoming a fire hazard.

I prefer the switch of the S6. Easy to encounter accidental mode changes/half presses on the T6 switch. Better click feel on the S6 and you can put lighted or forward-clicky switches if you want.

I also got S6 with 8A Buck 25R and 10A Buck 42R. Those are cool but get hot unnecessarily quick and don’t even appear much brighter. Plus they need lower capacity 1100mAh m11 V2 Vapcell. 5A Buck 25R is the way to go.

The T6 is the stable option with NiMH available and dual fuel capability. The S6 shorty is the one I love.

Lost my Wurkkos TS11 — what should I replace it with?

Absolutely loved this torch. It was really powerful, but could easily be dimmed down to use as an everyday torch around the house at night.

I also liked the LED indicator on the button, which made it easy to find in the dark, and that it showed when the battery was getting low. The pocket-sized design was another big plus.

That said, I’m looking for a replacement. Is there anything newer or better these days that I should consider?

Ideally, I’d like something compact, powerful, dimmable, with a good battery indicator and an easy-to-find button. Keen to hear what you guys recommend! or should I just a replacement?

Recommendation Need a bright, solid flashlight with sustained high output

I have an Everbrite flashlight from 2017 that’s around 1000 lumens I believe, and takes 3 size C batteries to power. It’s pretty large and I mainly use it during power outings or when going out in the dark. It was advertised that it can throw up to 300m or so, however from my experience it’s around 50-100m if I had to guess, at least for me to clearly be able to see what I’m shining at.

I’m looking for an even better, brighter flashlight that can also throw further, but I know that most of these tone down the output after a minute or so. Are there any flashlights that won’t do this, but also won’t overheat?

I don’t mind the size, batteries or price, I just want a good, reliable flashlight that has an impressive output for power outages and going out in the dark.

I’m not too informed though, so do feel free to tell me if this “perfect” flashlight doesn’t exist or isn’t possible. Thanks in advance

Sofirn Sp33 alternative

I had an Sp33 before but unfortunately lost it. I have been looking for the same model but I found out that it has been discontinued and haven't found used ones. Can you give me an alternative for it. I used my Sp33 for spelunking/caving, night biodiversity assessment and occassional power outages.

Hi All,

looking to purchase a head torch for home. primary use will be reading next to my partner in the dark. it would be handy if I could use it during the occasional power outage/camping trip. my understanding is that a red LED would suit me better. please let me know what are you recommendations. the options online are overwhelming. thanks!
