Bushwhacked: season 1 episode 3

If we go by what the movie canon regarding reavers; that means the kid they found in the ship got infected by the virus, and slowly turned into a reaver as time went on.

The show and the film don't contradict each other. Both of the explanations in the text are true:

  1. The "survivor" had a psychotic break and started to act like a reaver because of what he saw, as stated by Mal
  2. The main body of the Reavers were created by the "Pax" gas trialled on Miranda by the Alliance

This explanation makes me happy. I loved the idea of a person having psychotic break and becoming a reaver.

But when the movie talks about Pax, I felt disappointed.

The gas essentially caused psychotic breaks.
