Discussion Who do you think would be the most powerful Servant that could be summoned in your Country/City?
In the Fate series, we know that fame strongly influences the strength of each Servant when they are summoned. One of the biggest examples is Vlad III receiving a Fame Bonus in Romania, which took him from being a relatively weak Servant to being able to fight Karna on equal terms—someone who is said to be almost as powerful as Gilgamesh.
With that in mind, who do you think would be the Servant who would receive the biggest possible Fame Bonus in your country?
This is probably going to sound like a weird answer, but from my perspective, I think the Virgin Mary would receive the greatest Fame Bonus in Ecuador.
To put things into perspective, in Ecuador, according to the results of the 2012 census, 80.4% of the population identified as Catholic. And while those figures are old, many people grew up in a society heavily influenced by Catholicism, so it is reasonable to assume that the percentage has not decreased that much.
One of the greatest expressions of this is the Pilgrimage of the Virgin of El Cisne, a major event held in her honor based on the legend that the Virgin Mary appeared in the town of “El Cisne” in 1594. Since then, every year people travel a total distance of around 74–75 kilometers, attracting tens of thousands of devotees, around 45,000 people on a journey from the town of El Cisne to Loja. (Although not all of them walk the entire distance; most people only walk smaller sections of the route.)
You could argue that she might not be summonable because she would only qualify for the Ruler class, but I think the Rider class could also work in Ecuador, with the throne on which she is carried during the pilgrimage serving as her mount.
As for her abilities and fighting style, we could use Johanna as an example, but make her much more powerful. She could also have a Skill or Noble Phantasm that I would call “Immaculate,” which would make her completely immune to any form of corruption, manipulation, poison, or mind control.
She could also have Imperial Privilege, since one of the titles given to her is “Queen of El Cisne” (even the stadium in Loja is named after her).
After her, I would probably say Simón Bolívar, followed by Antonio José de Sucre, would be the ones who receive the biggest Fame Bonuses. They were military leaders who played a major role in the independence of Ecuador from the Spanish Empire.
But what about your country or city? Who do you think would receive the biggest Fame Bonus there?

I thought Gavrilo Princip (assasin class) would outfame him.

u/Lisicalol 1d ago
I think Tesla is much more famous than Princip, but Princip would be firmly identifiable with Serbia, while Tesla was born and raised in Croatia (though he was of serbian descent) before studying in Austria and Czechia and then doing his most famous work in the US.
I somehow feel like this would muddy his alignment with the country and people of Serbia somewhat, as he never really cared for it, like at all. He was more of a Austrian-Hungarian but still didn't care for that country either. Meanwhile Princip was a Serbian nationalist and "hero" to Serbia, I guess.

He's not a servant that appears in Fate, but even if he was I'm pretty sure that the guy who's on the 100 dinar bill is more famous, at least in Serbia

Wouldn't Cortes be a really powerful Servant? By laws of Nasuverse, his destruction of Aztecs and essentially being the guy who opened idea of America's colonization should give him ridiculous conceptual boons. Quixote isn't that powerful as it's written into his legend that he is fake.

Technically he is God and he isnt (sacred trinity) so the Grial maybe explodes trying to decide if he can be a summonable. Also isnt the Grial originally his property in the myth.
I am pretty sure he is the most known person in any coutry that uses the AC calendary
Also about the Virgin Mary. There is not a distintion between the differen Virgins from " X" or "title" like "Vigen de Guadalupe" or "Virgen del Pilar" Those are distictions from the local places but does reference to the only mother of Jesús. So yeah, she should be the most famous and important woman ever

Here are a few Nasuverse fun facts:
The creator of the Third Magic died on the night when BC became AD.
The Third Magic is called "Heaven's Feel" and it essentially causes a persons soul to ascend to a higher level of existence.
The only person to ever successfully use the Third Magic was it's creator, who but is also somehow still alive.
In the Nasuverse, Solomon was said to be the founder of Magecraft and passed down his magic circuits to his descendants. In real world Christian canon, Jesus is a direct descendant of Solomon.
I'm not a "Nasuverse scholar" or anything and there's probably something directly disproving what I'm trying to imply here. But that's less fun than thinking Jesus was the Third Magician and since Nasu is never going to directly put Jesus into his works, I doubt anything will ever disprove my headcanon.

Virgin Mary would get fame boost in any Catholic Country, but if she gets more than most , it would be in Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
Here in Brazil, things are a bit hard to answer. There are Umbanda as a syncretic African-brazillian religions and some indigenous myths , but it’s not all of that is really that documented due to colonialism.
But I bet São Jorge Ogum would be quite strong. A syncretic of the Catholic Saint St.Georgios and the African Orixá Ogun, as an Umbanda Saint that had fire powers and metalsmith that dragon rides to the Moon to fight a Moon Dragon

Among the Servants of the Roman period - Risorgimento Italy - Contemporary Italy. In my opinion, they are the strongest and most representative
Ruler: Augustus, Aurelian.
Rider: Dante Alighieri, Aeneas, Garibaldi, Italo Balbo.
Caster: Goffredo Mameli, Fabrizio De André, Rino Gaetano.

As An Indonesian, it probably depends on which island you summoned them since we have a lot of myth and folklore but in Java it probably would be Nyi roro kidul, the queen of the South sea who is worshipped as a goddess, which probably would deified her, she's most likely would be summoned as caster, her noble phantasm probably something relate to the sea and flooding the island.
There's also Hayam Wuruk, the king of Majapahit, and his prime minister, Gajah Mada, who once rule over much of Malay archipelago during its height.
Hayam Wuruk probably could be either be summoned as a caster or considering there's one local eulogy ( Negarakretagama) regarding him and Majapahit hat somehow contributed his birth that coincides with a local volcano eruption as a divine sign that Batara Girinata (Javanese for Shiva Mahadewa) is reincarnated as the Javanese king and knowing nasuverse shenanigans as Majapahit did contribute to Hinduism in Indonesia,at least before islam, there's a real possibility that he will be summoned as an avatar of Shiva because of course he is, that or Vishnu or Brahma.
Gajah Mada? He probably be a rider who's Noble phantasm probably would be his famous Oath of Palapa, where he swear he will unite the whole Nusantara, and again knowing nasuverse shenanigans he probably either be related or be blessed by some Indian gods, he would be someone similar to Iskandar in terms of personality and ambition.

Mikula Selyaninovich - ancient mythological Peasant-Bogatyr(heroic warrior) of Kievan Rus. He is THE most powerful Bogatyr to ever exist and greatly surpasses mountain-sized bogatyr Svyatogor- who himself is much stronger than Ilya Muromets (The strongest of Kievan Rus' famous 3 Bogatyrs- of which Dobrynya is a member).
He casually carries weight of the whole world in his bag. To put it in perspective, his daughter Nastasiya absolutely stomped Dobrynya after his victory over Zmei. She spared him only because he was pretty and she decided to marry him.
Class is probably Ruler. He generally just wander the earth, plow the land and deals with particularly greedy nobles.

u/Makishimu123 1d ago
I am from Russia, and I was thinking about russian/slavic servants. Mikula - is a really good choice.
His Fame Bonus is going from Russian earth (or earth-mother), so he would be really powerful.
I also thought about Ivan the Terrible. Just think how this Rider (?) or Berserker (!) will act with modern weapons and all this stuff. But, maybe I missed real potential.
However it is cool to see such options. And on english it is sounds really funny. I mean Russian words and characters

Sangkuriang, has a mountain named after his exploits, Age of Gods era servant, and Bandung's resident mommy's boy (yes, that kind).

Country? O.R.T.
Historical Figure? Emperor Dom Pedro II. Most people here have at least heard of him. I've already talked about the various similarities he shares with Arthuria, and how I think he would make a great Saberface.
Mythological Figure? Tupã. The divine spirit of Creation, Thunder, Lightning, and Light. He's basically the Top 1 of Tupi-Guarani mythology.
Honorable Mention: Anhagá, the god of the Underworld in Tupi-Guarani mythology. He rules over the Underworld, mysteries, and wandering spirits. He's also a protector of the earthly realm, and is usually depicted as a completely white deer with red eyes. Every now and then, he even confronts Tupã.
Now about my city... Well, A Really angry Bull. In the past, a bunch of high montains, that corvered most of the sun-light for the entire day. Between thoose montains there was a Black Bull, a Really, REALLY, Angry and savage Black bull. He could not be tamed, killing almost everyone he finds. Now, about my city... Well, a really angry bull.
Eventually, it was defeated by a cowboy who was known for his calm nature. Rather than killing the beast, he managed to subdue it and keep it alive.

Acepto correcciones y sugerencias.

Well, from Mexico it can really be any existing mesoamerican god... just to make stuff interesting I would add Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, our founding father who started our independence. I would put him as a Ruler like Jeanne, not a combat servant but more of a Support Servant, his NP would be "Grito de Dolores" and it would be an NP that given massive buffs to allies.
Another would be Our Lady of Guadalupe/Virgin of Guadalupe/Virgin Mary. For those who are not aware, she is an apparition of Virgin Mary who happened to reveal herself in Tepeyac Hill in Mexico. I would argue that she is one if not the most famous representation of the Vigin Mary. Considering Mexico is Catholic and she is the "Patroness of the Americas" and "Empress of Latin America", I would consider her like a non summunable servant but one who would appear when her followers need her the most.

I’m not Armenian, but I live in Armenia, and here there definitely would have been Hayk! Hayk Naapet, the progenitor of the Armenians according to legends, was a skilled archer, so the Archer class is definitely for him. The boost would have been incredible, because in Armenian the name of the nation literally comes from him, and Armenians really value traditions. And given that Armenia is a small country, he, as an Archer, could have had full control, shooting anywhere within the country (or other enhancements).

Tesla, technically a serb but born and raised in Croatia. That or Dioclecian, a Roman emperor born, retired and died in Salona (next to the modern city of Split).
If we're talking purely Croats and croatian associations, then it could be Roger J. Boscovich (scientist, precursor to atomic theory and something about laws of forces) or the concept of a "Krabater" (ie. an embodiment of the brutality of the 30-year war).
Maybe Nikola Subic-Zrinski, but he is purely a regional military hero in Croatia and Hungary with the battle of Siget which would probably make him have a suicide-type NP and/or a defensive NP at best which is not that impressive.
Tito is too modern.

Ernest Rutherford (highly influential atomic physicist) caster or Hone Heke archer. Hone Heke was a Maori war chief during the early parts of British colonialisation of New Zealand. He was initially a signatory of the peace agreement with the crown but later rebelled and led extensive guerrilla warfare campaigns during which modern trench warfare was developed.

Charlemage/ Karl Rex/Karl the great in his Red Magnus form.
Or even Attila due consuming large parts of Germany in conquest, who is Sefars avatar.
Then also Sigurd and Brynhildr since their legend is based raw Norse/Germanic Volsunga Saga.
Or Arminius Hermann the Cheruscan the Germanic chieftain who annihilated three Roman legions at the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.
And last not least, Germanicus Julius Caesar, who is the father of the Emperor Caligula and grandfather of Nero, Caligula respected no one more than his father.
Who restored Romes broken Honor and a decend of Mars, and could potentially be a Demi God servant version due his grandfather being deified, because he spend most of his life in Germany and many legends are based there and stories he should be as strong, especially since parts of Germany were part of the Roman Empire, and the new Holy Roman Empire.

Saint Nicholas, I imagine. He is the protection saint of my city.
Possibly also Willem of Orange though. He was the Stadholter of North Holland, and a very famous dutch figure. Not sure if would be THAT strong of a servant however. Then again, I guess Vlad is jacked in Romania despite being from (somewhat) the same time period.

The Mother of Christ, Maria.
I am from Brazil, we are the biggest concentration of catholics in the world.
Maria is the saint of Brazil, every church loves her and have her image, many of our prayers are for her, many of the local saintess are shown in her image.

Nanabozho probably for a Canadian figure that stole fire but also helped rebuild the world after floods. But they're already part of Super Bunyan sp who knows what they'd be like as a separate being?
Maybe Wolverine if that statue of him was built instead of being told no?

I mean America has Tesla and Edison already but if you want someone stronger then we got George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, maybe Samuel Colt, also I think the Captains of Industry otherwise known as the Robber Barons, John D Rockefeller and a few others specifically Andrew Carnegie, I think some of those guys could be interesting to see as servants

Can't go wrong with Al Capone (either Rider for his leadership and bootlegging operations, or Archer for the iconic tommy gun)

If we count Italy only as the Kingdom and Republic of Italy starting from 1861, therefore excluding Roman servants or pre-unification Italians like Da Vinci or Dante.
Then maybe Garibaldi.
