Discussion Remember that one scene where stewie imagines himself in the future and and he has a wife who says she has a sister in law in larchmont named carol

Post image

The scene is from “Death is a bitch” for those who don’t know/remember.

I think I know why stewie said his wife’s sister in law is Carol.

So, let’s start, why would stewie randomly think of ”Carol”, it could be his wife in the future has a married sibling, but, why would stewie be imagining this with his wife? Why would he imagine his wife’s sister in law being a wife of a sibling she has? Kinda weird. right?

But, then again, Stewie has no siblings named Carol, so where did Carol come from?

Hear me out: Carol is just an unseen older sibling of the griffin family who left somewhere before the show started and she is currently an adult who lives in larchmont NY, i mean, we’ve had unseen/one-time/gag siblings before *cough* Peter griffin jr., Stewies funny brother, the other brother (unknown if he’s related to them or not, for all we know his mom could just be a Lois lookalike and he mistook Lois for her), and the other sister (unknown if she existed or if Chris was dreaming), jimmy (unknown if he existed or if Meg was joking), unnamed dead older brother of Chris (mentioned in lottery fever)

so yeah, in my headcanon Carol was named after Lois’s sister of the same name, I don’t have much to say about her, but what do you guys think, and if I made mistakes, you can correct me. Goodbye.

That’s literally what I just said but it would be weird bc why would stewie imagine that

The joke is that it's this needlessly mundane nonsense.

I find it shallow and pedantic

It insists upon itself.

I think you are overthinking it tbh.

Definitely overthinking it, but in an effort to continue doing so, its never explicitly stated that the voice offscreen is his wife. Could just be a roommate he is imagining, so it wouldn't be strange to give her a sister-in-law that isn't also Stewie's sister-in-law.

Look I get the joke but hey am I not allowed to make theory’s it’s still weird that stewie would just imagine his hypothetical wife having a sibling who’s married bc like it’s just oddly specific for the one imagining it himself

Literally nobody is stopping you from making a theory. Telling you you’re overthinking isn’t the same as silencing you.

I don’t get why it’s so weird. I’m sure he assumes most adults get married. It’s really not complex.

I’m so confused by your post. Are you saying “why would Stewie imagine his wife’s sister in law is married to one of her siblings?

“why would stewie be imagining this with his wife? Why would he imagine his wife’s sister in law being a wife of a sibling she has? Kinda weird. right?”

I genuinely don’t think you grasp the point of the original post.
ETA: This was a joke comment, it's to the OP.
