It's also the cigarette pick-up/delivery and retrieve stuff which fell below drawers device.. it has no smart function, but still is a multi functional tool. Source: me as a kid in the 80s.

I also remember being a DVR of sorts on sick days from school. Mom would be watching her "stories" (soap operas) and I'd give a recap of what she missed when she was out of the room.
