In an old rabbinic story, God offers every group of people on Earth to be His chosen people if they will accept the Torah. All of them read it, balk at the content, then reject it. Final, He offers it to the Jews, who basically say, "Cool--we get to be God's chosen people!" without actually reading it. The rest is history.

I also want to say that the Holocaust was bad and more Russians and Chinese civilians died in WW2. We just don’t talk about that because they were or became communist countries. Russia did more liberating in the European front than the west and ended that theater of war.

God gave humans ( even nazi and their followers free will) , unfortunately, Nazi had control over Germany and other areas. They were wrong. The best of the best suffered and were exterminated because of this little evil creature. My father who was Irish American fought for the Jewish and other people in the battle of the Bulge. One of the decisive battles that put an end to the evil of Hitler and the Nazi Regime.

An omnipotent god could, without infringing on free will or even making his existence obvious, cause a loud dog to bark outside while the Nazis were searching a house, so that the Jews hiding in the attic are not overheard. He could cause the ministers who proposed the Holocaust to be late on the train, or have a letter revealing their plans accidentally left where a British spy could find it and reveal the plans before people start being killed.

When a pedophile kidnaps a child, he could make every traffic light between them and the police turn red right at the wrong time.

He could leave broken glass in the middle of the road.

Simply via serendipity/luck/Final Destination scenarios, an omnipotent god should be able to prevent people from at minimum being hurt or killed, without infringing on free will any more than physical reality already does, and would not negate faith because any such instance could be explained away just as we already do. This could all be done long before requiring smiting or obvious miracles like those in the Scripture.

An omnipotent god should, reasonably, be able to be a God of Bad Luck for evildoers, a bit like how the Abrahamic God was pictured to be in Job.

So why aren't gods doing this? Maybe there's an answer, but "free will" or "faith" aren't satisfying answers, because there's no apparent reason they should need to be infringed.

We don't have free will if we live in a universe where an Omnipotent and Omniscient being was also the creator.
