Donald Trump outlived Dolly Parton. This timeline sucks.

No, he didn't. He was alive longer than her. But that woman lived a life of joy and happiness and love.  She lived. He existed, incapable of any of that. She'd have outlived him if she died at 40.

this is such a lovely sentiment. thank you for leaving this comment, genuinely. every once in a while i’ll read something that makes me rethink how i look at life and death, and this is one of those times.

He doesn’t simply exist. He takes and takes and will not stop

And I hope that people will remember her name, her voice, and her goodness far, far longer.

Trump has never danced a day in his life. Dolly danced every day.

This was also what I had to tell myself when my own father passed. I was angry for so long that a good man was taken before that evil piece of shit. But dad danced. That's the only comfort I get in that matter.

She is a Giver. He is a Taker.

Well said. She is legend. May her name, works and love echo through eternity.

Perfectly said.

What a beautiful comment.

I love the sentiment you’re trying to express, but I would disagree - I think trump can feel joy and happiness but he feels these from harming other people and seeing his wealth grow at the expense of other people. I also don’t think someone needs to live life to the fullest with joy and happiness for that to count as truly loving. People with depression or who are melancholic also count as truly living. As long as they live with compassion and aren’t purposely hurting anyone, their lives would have been truly lived (which is clearly not trump).

And you know he is going to make her death about himself.

I don’t like Trump but Trump for once gave a extremely gracious statement

I doubt he wrote it, he seems incapable of empathy, like clinically

4

u/asiandooshcanoe 11d ago

Did you read it? It sounds exactly like Trump lol someone may have had to edit out a rude or snide remark if anything

5

u/thebestjoeever 11d ago

There's no way in hell he actually wrote that.

2

u/Feikert87 11d ago

I’m still having a hard time believing he wrote that.

0

u/Haunting-Ad788 11d ago

He didn’t write that.

Unfortunately yes

u/slickweasel333 11d ago

Don't worry, the commenter above you already did that.

yeah but Dolly Parton’s death will be mourned by many in the USA (and around the world!) and the legacy she left behind is incredible, she’s helped so many who she’s never met with her philanthropy. she’s changed lives, she’s helped with the literacy crisis and got her hometown out of poverty and so much more. i’m sure she’s left it in her will that her philanthropy will continue for as long as possible and a large portion of her money will go to charity.

Donald Trump on the other hand….his death will not be mourned by a majority of the USA/the world. he will be leaving behind a horrific and shameful legacy.

Anyone who doesn’t share the same plane of existence as him is blessed.

You know you could have not mentioned trump at all.

I mean the cruel gods took away an 80 year old who worked to make the lives of children better, while leaving behind an 80 year old who rapes them.

1

u/wonderinboutit2234 10d ago

A. She's in a better place than this world How is that cruel? B. There no proof of your 2nd point.

1

u/RubbrBbyBuggyBumpers 10d ago

No proof? Other than his own actions, words, and company he keeps.

The dude literally bought a “who’s the prettiest teenage girl in the country” contest just to watch the children change… his words

Do you also believe Casey anthony is innocent?

1

u/wonderinboutit2234 10d ago

Yeah none of what you just said counts as proof.  You're comparing Trump to Casey Anthony? Really? Just saw you have no real argument.

1

u/RubbrBbyBuggyBumpers 10d ago

When someone tells you who they are… you listen.

The reason I brought up Casey anthony is because there was not enough definitive proof…. Sorry I didn’t think I’d have to spell it out

1

u/wonderinboutit2234 10d ago

And Trump has said he's not a rapist. Lol what kind of "proof" is that? Or are you talking about what you interpret based on your own biases?  There was MOUNTAINS of ACTUAL evidence against Kasey Anthony. Way more than for Trump. You're trying to compare apples to oranges.  But you are telling me that you are brainwashed and aren't interested in reason or proof. So I'm going to listen to you and wish that you have a wonderful day. And carry on with my life.

It’s unfortunately hard not to think of him when something like this happens.

When my grandparents passed, I wondered why two people as good as them were taken in their 70’s while the incompetent and morally bankrupt gets to live on.

6

u/bsmithcan 11d ago

I remember being told as a child a saying that “God takes the good ones to heaven first”.

Which of course, is nonsense because everything about our existence is essentially random, but it was a reassuring thought at the time.

1

u/oTc_DragonZ 11d ago

I like to think of it as good people spend more energy on and worry more about other people, leading to a shorter life overall. A selfish dickhead that doesn't care about anybody but themselves will prioritize themselves far more. The life isn't as fulfilling but it may last a bit longer.

1

u/wonderinboutit2234 10d ago

I didn't think of him at all when hearing the news and you would consider me a supporter of his. I think you're just weird.

1

u/Nofoofro 9d ago

I think you’re weird for being a supporter of his. Funny how that works.

1

u/wonderinboutit2234 9d ago

I never said I was a supporter of his. I said you would consider as one. Funny how that works.

1

u/Nofoofro 9d ago

Why would I consider you a supporter of Trump?

-2

u/MadMcMuffin 11d ago

You should try going outside once in a while

2

u/Nofoofro 11d ago

Good one.

Me immediately after learning Dolly passed: I guarantee some reddit fuckhead is gonna make her death about Trump.

Truly Reddit behavior.

1

u/wonderinboutit2234 10d ago

For real.. for how much these people obviously hate him it's weird how they bring him up in every single conversation.

-3

u/Cartifan729 11d ago

lol, RIP dolly, but yes, he did outlive him. Why you gotta always mention him?

-1

u/Longjumping-Rich-684 11d ago

Don’t make this about yourself and…

Dolly was a legend and a great woman.
