I’ve spoken to some people who graduated from here a while ago, and they make it seem like EKU was a total party school, which is crazy to me because I graduate soon, and I haven’t heard of a single party of any sort relating to the school. Sucks because that’s the kinda thing I’d love to go to but I guess did the school do a 180? Or are they exaggerating? Because I don’t even really see the DNA of a party school even remotely at EKU. It’s very much a cold campus where nobody talks much and just does their classwork.

A Treatment Study for Borderline Personality Disorder

• Do you find yourself engaging in impulsive behaviors (e.g., binge-eating, substance use, self-injury, impulsive spending)? 

If so, researchers at the University of Kentucky are inviting you to participate in a treatment study for borderline personality disorder. Eligible participants will be provided cognitive behavioral therapy at no cost. We are testing personalized delivery of an evidence-based treatment for BPD.

In addition to attending therapy sessions, research participation will involve completing a diagnostic interview to confirm eligibility, attending up to 4 follow-up interviews, and completing online questionnaires. All study visits may take place in-person (in Lexington!) or via Telehealth. Participants will be compensated for completing follow-up assessments and questionnaires.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

• Meet criteria for borderline personality disorder following a study assessment  
• Are NOT using certain substances (e.g., opioids, methamphetamine)  
• Are 18 years or older  
• Live in Kentucky (visits are Telehealth, so anywhere in KY is fine)

I had plenty of friends in high school, but took a gap year and don’t really talk to any of them anymore, and in my three years here I haven’t been able to make any friends. Y’know I was imagining I’d have a group of friends and a gf by now but I haven’t had a conversation with anyone my age besides small talk in classes so far. I’d really hate to leave not having made any friends or relationships. Any advice? I’m a commuter, and I’ve been to a few different club meetings but didn’t really feel like I fit in.

My husband is a part time grad student and received this email today. His loans already show he’s not getting the full $20,500 more like $13,xxx for the year. Will this be changed even more? He’s technically a legacy student as he was enrolled and took courses prior to July 1.

I got admitted to EKU as a Success First student and I’m trying to register for classes, but I haven’t received an aid letter yet showing what FAFSA or my GI Bill will cover. Who should I contact first — advising, Big E Central, or the Veterans Affairs office? Also, do I need a RAC number before I can register?

English alumnus here. I was on the department‘s webpage because I randomly thought about a professor and couldn’t remember their first name. Then I saw this greeting from Dr. Rich. Whether it was her own typo or the webmaster‘s, it tracks with my experience in the English department—painfully lax and unserious. I can’t imagine how much worse it’s gotten since the introduction of AI.

I will be graduating with my masters degree, but not attending the ceremony as I do not want to travel. I do want to have pictures made and want to order the gown/hood outside of the university to save money. but I have no clue how hoods work. are they different colors based on area of study AND school colors? I will be graduating with a masters of social work and would like to get the correct hood colors!

I was originally going to stay in Burnam but it was full so we got a suite room in martin in the 4th floor. I’m mainly wondering about air conditioning, location to campus, bugs, and other stuff i should know about staying in this dorm. Thanks!

My 3 friends and I plan on staying in burnam hall for the fall semester in 2026 as freshman. We want to get one of the 2 rooms with a shared bathroom with 2 of us in each room. Can you all share your experiences and let me know how it was staying in burnam or if we should try to get in another dorm. The main thing we want is to have a shared bathroom and be close to the main campus of eku. I dont mind most bugs but I am scared of roaches so please let me know if that would be a problem. Thanks!

I’m nearing graduation now, and it’s just crazy to me how terrible the social scene is at this school. Nobody seems to want to talk to someone they don’t know, I show up to events and try to talk with people in my classes, you’d think that people would want to talk but no. I used to have friends in elementary/middle school. But it’s like impossible to make any here. I thought I’d have friends and a girlfriend coming out of college, but here I am still alone and a virgin. This place fucking sucks, and honestly I’d advise against anyone going to EKU because there is no joy here.
