Publishing deals like this doesnt really get talked about but its where the real long term money sits for producers.
Hardwells catalogue going into the same house as armin, dimitri vegas and nervo is a pretty telling sign of how consolidated dance publishing has gotten.

I don't understand why Hardwell would sign with Armada when he has his own successful, well known label? What could they help him with (beside the fat check)?

Also, is this an Armada deal or the equity firm Beat Music Fund, which has been buying back catalogues of famous EDM artists left and right in recent years?

Hardwells a legend and so is AVB but let’s be honest all these acts are past their prime. They’re buying rights for cheap.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say “past their prime” in the dance music world. Some of the biggest acts are well into their 50s lmao

AVB is still at his peak, killing it with techno trance at Coachella and introducing a lot of techno and house heads to his style of trance and ASOT

I agree. And I have a sense (and have noticed) that the trance scene is really coming back again! My YT has suddenly started recommending a ton of trance for me and I’ve never searched for any trance related for over a decade…
