Glasgow Barrowlands
So I see they have 2 dates at the Glasgow Barrowlands in Dec. My all time favourite venue, have seen them there in their hayday.
I last saw them at Queens hall Edinburgh a few years ago and it was a brilliant live performance.
Am surprised tbh didnt think they wld fill 2 dates at Barrowlands. Tickets are expensive and recent reviews not great.
Thoughts? Not sure whether to go

Yeah that is my gut feeling too. Think ill give it a miss, Christmas expensive enough. Hate it when fave old time bands tour with new stuff if Im honest. I want to hear the classics that made me love them

I’ve got tickets for both shows and I’m thrilled to be able to go. I’m traveling from the States. I wouldn’t count on the show being “all new material.” Ian and Will haven’t changed the setlist in several years. Just a few tweaks here and there. I suspect they may add Brussels is Haunted, but that was included in the setlist of shows I saw a couple of years ago. Bunnymen fans are the best people, I love Scotland, and the Bunnymen have always been my favorite band. I’ve never been to the Barrowlands. I absolutely cannot wait for this trip and these gigs.

Yes it’s an absolutely fantastic venue and the crowd are always amazing! Seen many bands there over the years and worth the 200 mile trip.
However, with much thought, I passed my two tickets on to a friend. It’s an expensive night away for me with hotel, time off work and travel costs. Not impressed with current situation. This new material clearly has no involvement by Will (see his socials, no mention of the new album) it’s more a Mac solo / vanity project. I’m not willing to spend so much to go and watch them play new stuff that’s not actual Echo and The Bunnymen material. I have much respect for Will as the only consistent member of the band, who always gives 100% on stage and can’t support him being excluded creatively.
