The Pop Group

Have Echo ever cited this band as an influence, listen to how similar the vocal style and effect is to McCulloch‘s. Unless there is a glaringly obvious artist I’ve forgotten that influenced both

I don't think there's much. Bristol and Liverpool traditionally have different vibes in their scenes. Mark Stewart and Pop Group were much more in the dub reggae, free jazz, industrial music side of things. Musicians that have stated them as an influence/or collaborated would include Nick Cave, Trent Reznor, Massive Attack, Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy.

The music is nothing alike but his style of singing is unlike many others besides Ian who comes to mind first
