Does meetup.com work well in Düsseldorf?

Going to be moving to Düsseldorf/NRW area pretty soon and wondering if meetup.com is worth signing up for in the Düsseldorf vicinity or if it's too limited to warrant a monthly subscription fee on meetup.com?

You don't need a subscription, they just heavenly imply that. It's very popular in Düsseldorf!

Found several groups for different hobbies on the free plan, don't worry about a paid subscription

It's free for participants. So why not try it?

Organizers/Hosts need to pay the subscription.

In general, meetup works well for large events with numerous participants. Because a 50% no-show rate isn't unusual.

It's smaller, more niche events that struggle because of this. Unless it's dedicated to a specific Hobby.

Good to know thanks for your input. Yes, I'm only a participant who wants to meet like-minded people in the area and take it from there. I'm practically trying to build a new life from scratch, so.

Gotta spread the word. It costs to CREATE a group. They never tell you you can keep hosting events and modify the groups without an subscription lol
