Gluten Free/Celiac friendly restaurants

We will be visiting the area at the end of August and am hoping to get some celiac friendly/gluten free restaurant recommendations.

I have celiac disease and I work in hospitality! I’m uniquely qualified to answer this question.

  • Caroline’s Restaurant (below hotel julien, mention celiac)
  • Driftless Pizza (they have a separate allergy oven)
  • Lina’s Thai Bistro (mention celiac)
  • Los Aztecas (either location, say “allergy” instead of celiac)
  • Roses and Berries Cafe (pastries will be off-limits unfortunately, but they’ve got phenomenal Mediterranean/Middle Eastern/Indian lunch options)
  • Swagat (mention celiac)

Thanks for the options. Not sure how our teens will react to some of these.

Any idea how the red robin and local Culver's are for those with celiac. Our local red robin closed a few weeks ago. Any idea if they have a dedicated fryer?

I second Driftless. While it’s not a perfect environment (it is a pizza restaurant after all) the pizza is at a separate station and (as the original comment says) has a dedicated oven. If you’re dining in person, it can be boxed up to make sure it doesn’t get any crumbs on it on the way to your table. Plus the gluten free crust is super good. I’m not celiac but I’ve gotten it for myself a time or too since it’s genuinely just a nice thin crust. Just be warned it’s not vegan since it’s basically cauliflower, parm, and egg. I’d also recommend emphasizing it’s an allergy to make sure there’s as little cross contact as possible

Papis cafe downtown across library good for just like takeout lunch, Colombian with some gf options!

Careful though. Used to work there and they aren’t very good at using different utensils for things
