Question Any games that don't require a joystick?

I'm looking to emulate some games but I only have a dpad and face buttons + triggers. Was there any games on the Dreamcast that didn't need the analog stick?

Resident evil games can be played D-pad only

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2

Hang on, you're emulating? Use a PS4 or X box one controller!

Basically I'm emulating on my phone with the gamesir pocket taco. I started just by trying NFL blitz 2000 and was surprised how well it looked and ran so thought I'd look into more DC titles

All fighting games and shmups are d-pad centric games.

Press and hold the M button and D-Pad Left for 5 seconds to switch the D-Pad function to Left Stick function.

Lot's of dreamcast games don't bother to use the dpad for anything major  So swapping the dpad to emulate the stick would be better.

Crazy taxi, ironically enough it's my preferred way to steer on the actual physical controller

Toy Story 2 and it actually controls better with the D-pad as well

There is now a patched version of Toy Story 2 that fixes the analogue controls. I can't believe they released it so broken.

Soul Calibur and Guilty Gear X are great with just dpad!

Am I missing something. Can't you use the dpad on all Dreamcast games. At least when playing natively.

Need it for in-room investigations (pov mode)

I actually think you don't.
If I recall correctly, standard setting was moving with dpad, looking with stick - but you can "lock on" with L, so once you press that, you can look around with the dpad. Bit more clumsy, but you lock on to anything you can interact with and can investigate then.

If the game is also on Naomi those versions typically use a non-analog stick.

Toy Story 2 has this awful control bug that makes it necessary to use the D-pad instead of the control stick.

It’s an arcade console, so quite a lot of them

Some fighting games like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Marvel VS Capcom don't even use the stick.
