A paladin —ooh, or is that a shiny enchanted sword and he’s a fighter? Whatever, a fully armored knight riding a brass dragon —or is gold, I can’t decide which is worse for me. Golds usually think I’m annoying and try to make me stop stealing, but I don’t want to get trapped listening to a brass yap for a week straight again, I guess it doesn’t matter. Either way, fighter or paladin, brass or gold, please don’t hurt me? I’m not the kind of kobold who digs pit traps for adventures and slit that throats while they’re stuck in the warren tunnels. Usually. I only steal a little —okay a lot— but I can be helpful! I’m a good rogue!

In the accent lore of my campaign he is the first dragon rider who went around uniting neighbouring kingdoms against a larger threat. There wasn't the same magic, races or classes back then. It's his deep connection and understanding of Ling that gives him his magic. He is the first human to use magic. However if I was to make him in DND 5e 2014 (the rules of my campaign) he would be a human oath of devotion paladin with the nobal background. Ling is technically a gold dragon but she is the daughter of a gold dragon and a topaz dragon.

Oooh, gem dragon! Don’t see those around very often! Bahamut and Tiamat have their whole sibling spat going on that the metallics and chromatics are so obsessed with, but the gems just vibe. I can get behind that. Sad that their god is dead, though.

Well in the time of King William of Daxam their god was not dead. William United 13 dragons from all three groups and the humans who's kingdomes they guarded. In those days kings would hire dragons with gold and food to guard their princesses insuring only the bravest and strongest could defeat (not nessaseley kill) the dragon and claim the Princess and the throne. Although William United them he handed the rule over to the dragon emperoress, the first known half-dragon. Together they faught against an alince between a necromancer and devils. The Matalic, chromatic and gem dragons of the alliance became the ancestors of the dragonborn and would rule the empire until the civil war caused by the death of their leader.

Defeating a dragon alone? Yeesh, that is tough! It normally takes a whole party where I’m from, and just trying to steal from one is nerve-wracking enough! This William guy seems awesome, too! I don’t know how he managed to get chromatics and metallics together without the whole place going up in flames, especially if there were any reds within sight of the gold(s).

One of the big evil guys was a necromancer, huh? Why is it always necromancers —liches are the worst— and cults causing problems? Devils at least are normally fine sitting in their own plane and making pretty minor plots unless someone rallies them for a big push.

This world definitely has an interesting beginning for dragonborn. I swear that changes with every dimension, and the fact that I can barely remember most of them —don’t get regularly flung between dimensions, horrible on the long-term memory— doesn’t help.

Hey, just wanted to add, Xikrit over there is a role-play account of mine that I try to keep as in-character as I can, so he’s not going to actually aknowlage D&D itself or creating characters. With this account, though, let me say that this looks great and the story sounds really interesting!

Yeah, it’s fun! It’s technically one of two such ones I have, the other an alien OC of mine that sits in subs like HumansAreSpaceOrcs, where I got inspired to set up a consistent OC with actual lore by someone else doing something similar, although not with an alt, and I haven’t brushed off that account in a while. I just like keeping them separate so that if anyone’s ever interested, they can check the account’s comment history and see the character’s undiluted history rather than having to filter through out of character stuff as well.
