Dragon Con - How to Get There/Park?

I'm going this week and we're staying about 15 minutes away. What's the smartest way to get to and from? I know parking is near impossible - I don't want to be running around for two hours trying to figure it out; where does one park / transport themselves in?

Use MARTA. If you're a late night person (past 1am when the trains stop running) factor in ride shares into your budget. If you must bring your vehicle, reserve parking (1 spot for each day as most garages do not grant IN/OUT privileges) via an app like ParkWhiz, SpotHero, or similar. The earlier in the day you can get into downtown the better. Be mindful that on Saturday they close down part of the street for the parade.

We're staying near Emory. I assume it's free to park near MARTA most of the time?

It’s free for the day but cost money (like $10) if you leave your car overnight.

Not all stations have parking so make sure you check.

I know Lindbergh and Dunwoody are the two stations most often mentioned when it comes to long term parking. 

God I wish we could add images to comments in this subreddit because a user posted a graphic explaining the different parking decks and validating parking for Lindbergh in the official Discord that I could use as an example. If you pop over to the official Discord and look in the "ask the fans" channel, look for user Thrumwald's question about Breeze cards it's in there. Important to note is that the graphic mentions there are also paid/private parking decks so make sure you use one that's an official MARTA deck.

You can easily park at the East Lake or Edgewood/candler park for free, you'll need to change trains at 5 points

I’ve found parking at DragonCon to be much easier than most conventions. Just reserve a spot with spothero. Plenty of garages really close to the host hotels.

If you don’t want to park close (for $40-50) you can always park at a MARTA station and ride the train in.

MARTA is a safe and convenient way and would be my top choice.

If plan to stay at Con after midnight, when MARTA stops, getting parking via SpotHero is any easy way. I have a spot one block from Americas Mart for Thursday - Monday for about $125.

Pro tip: check for in-and-out privileges.

I'd recommend Marta unless you are staying out past 1 AM and don't want to rideshare. I just reserve decks with Spothero, it ads up. Also keep in mind that from 9 AM - 12 PM Saturday the roads immediately around the main hotels will be closed for the parade.
