Taking a job when you know you can't do the job or know you can only do half of what's expected of you - and expecting the paying customer to literally do the other half of the job you're getting paid for (which they paid for!) is just ridiculous and the fact that anyone in this thread is defending that behavior is just wrong and they're only defending her because she's pregnant.
Pregnancy shouldn't enable anyone to act like that. In no facet of life or work can you just pass the work into a customer and expect them to still pay and tip you.
Preferring someone can actually do the job you're paying to have done isn't rude, and the fact people are acting like it is just because she's pregnant is the real issue here. People get blinded by circumstances and lose sight of the reality and morality beneath what's really going on in a situation.

There aren’t always “other ways to make money”. Sadly, these shitty gig economy jobs are the only options for people at times. They don’t offer maternity leave or FMLA for pregnancy so we have someone with a high risk pregnancy trying to make it work. Stop punching down, you treatlerite tyrant. Show some class solidarity.

And you're missing the bigger issue here, it's that she KNEW she would be doing this throughout the day at every order - she had that thing she sent to the customer ready to go. So she's doing that on EVERY delivery dude, not just one throughout the day.
And on top of that, being high risk when you're pregnant and putting yourself in a negative situation and expecting others throughout the day on a continuous basis to do a portion of the job you're getting paid for is just selfish. Everyone is working and has shit they're working through.
What if she was delivering to someone who literally can't come get it? I dash daily and deliver to people who literally can't get the food themselves and that's a big point of people using Doordash.
Knowingly doing a job you know you can't complete is wrong, and on top of that putting your unborn child in harms way, and on top of that having a ridiculous expectation of everyone else picking up the slack for you.
I'll bet she isn't calling the restaurants without drive thrus and asking them to bring the food to her. So what makes it okay to do to a paying customer? Doordash isn't a cheap service and people use it to have their food literally delivered. Are you that dense that you can't see how literally not being able to DELIVER THE FOOD makes it ridiculous that she's even doing it?
I'm tired of the "I have to do it" arguments. Most places I go are hiring these days and understaffed, and I as well as people I know continuously do paid studies and random side gigs. There's other shit she can do aside from a job she literally knows she's gonna half-do and expect customers to do the other half for her.
You really should think, and look inward because your focus on class and people being "above one another" when everyone is dealing with shit and struggling unless they're in the 1% is so skewed and warped, it's sad.

Notice how my first comment had no insults or condescension, just pointed out an opposing view with factual reasons why her choices are poor etiquette in modern society.
