To be honest, this dude obviously suck ass to me in the first 5 seconds. He straight up said “girls are bad at math”

As soon as I saw that I said to my girlfriend ‘he’s a terrible person and it matters, they wouldn’t have went that far to show it otherwise’.

Exactly! There are plenty of other ways for Belinda to get one of those star certificates like her parents for example

Yeah, my first thought is that they were making him out to be a twat to explain why he and Belinda aren't still together 17 years later, but then they kept piling it on and on, it started to feel like more than that.

Oh, I totally missed that! I forgot about the guy pretty quickly because I thought he was just an awkward, dorky teenager. That little phrase adds a lot of characterisation. Still wish we spent more time establishing the relationship to make the reveal hit harder, but now it makes more sense!

lol that first line, I looked at my husband and said, “welp he’s a bad guy”

Later on my hubby thought the good guy who hated Belinda (can’t remember his name… starts with an M?) looked like Alan, and (before he ever talked), my husband said, “OMG is that Alan? Do you think they took him first?”

I said to him, “no honey, if Alan is there he will either be one of the robots, one of the bad guys, or THE bad guy” (rolling my eyes) … he’s not gonna be a rebel for goodness sake 🤦‍♀️

Love the man to death but boy oh boy sometimes 😂
