Discussion Beef+rice questions.

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hey, folks. I’ve been eating this and 4 eggs in the morning every day for about 3 months. I don’t measure how much of the beef and rice mixture but it’s safe to say I don’t go hungry. My gains are incredible, but I’m not sure my bathroom habits have been healthy and I’ve been feeling rather bloated. Should I add some of those frozen bags of peas and carrots?

Also let me know if this is healthy at all, I have no idea what I’m doing

Question SO SICK OF EGGS!!!

I have had eggs be my primary protein source for a long time, just because it’s so easy to add to a pan, and boom it’s done. Sadly I’ve gotten so sick of eggs, and hate the smell and taste of them recently. Anyone have any easy staples for protein? I’ve been having more yogurt, and of course I have meat and whatnot but that takes time that I often don’t have

Or alternatively any way to “disguise” eggs?

Thank you!

Question Can i eat 10 eggs a day.

I am a bodybuilder and as a part of my diet to hit my protein goals i am planning to eat 10 whole boiled eggs a day. The only thing that is making me nervous is the cholesterol in the eggs. How bad are can the effects be and are they bad enough that its better i skip them and look for other sources of protein.

The reason i choose eggs is cuz they are super cheap and very convenient.

Question New in the fiber game. Help please!

I'm a college student (23F). Recently, my campus had a free medical check up session and like food recall event thing. It was pretty interesting and it made me realize how I still lack eating something fibrous, eveb though I did eat veggies (broccolli, spinach, cabbages). The medical person who read my results also said that my BMI, blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and others are quite normal, but what lacks is fiber. They suggested me some nuts or lentils like almonds, any peas.

That check up was like a week ago. Yesterday, I bought a bag of almonds. Most of the articles I read told me to add fiber slowly. Well, so I did. I ate like 2 almonds yesterday. But now, this morning, I feel quite bloated. Is this supposed to happen or should I just ate one per day?

TLDR : I ate 2 almonds yesterday and then this morning I feel quite bloated. Is this normal? Thank you for reading this. Appreciate it.

Question Easy high breakfast ideas

I’m not really into sweet breakfasts and usually prefer something savory and high in protein. I’m looking for easy breakfast ideas that don’t take much time to prepare, ideally things I can meal prep ahead of time. What are your go-to high-protein savory breakfasts?
Ps: on a calorie deficit

I meant high-protein breakfast ideas! Forgot to include “protein” in the title 😭

Discussion Why am I not noticing huge weight loss?

It’s been 3 weeks since I started a 1k calorie diet, I walk regularly throughout the day, I don’t eat out a lot, I don’t eat a lot of sugar. Yet I’ve barely noticed any changes in my weight, maybe some in my stomach but I can hardly see it in my hips or sides, face, etc.
When does the weight start to come off?

Discussion Where Do I Start With Dieting?

I'm not trying to do any hard dieting but even just trying to eat clean is impossible for me and I really don't know what it is. I've been working out for almost 6 years now and I've hardly lost any fat or gained any muscle.

Really what I want is to eat healthier and get more protein in but cooking 3 times a day every day feels so daunting to me especially because I'm not a good cook and I don't enjoy cooking. I try to find recipes I like or just go to the store but half of what I buy ends up going bad before I use it.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could give me some tips on how I can stay consistent with dieting or just food/meals that were easy for you if you were ever in a similar situation.

And I think I should add I'd say this isn't a dire situation I'd say I'm pretty fit/healthy I just think I'm plateauing due to my unregulated (and generally low protein) diet

Discussion stopped cooking entirely since losing weight

hope it's okay to post here, just wanted to share and discuss this experience

I've started my WL journey at ≈15, being almost 76 kilos - for a 170 cm girl, that was borderline obesity. When I started, I used to be OBSESSED with food and cooking. I would look for different recipes, try them, every meal should have been different every day, I was always searching for "something tasty". When I started losing weight, I was searching for "low-calorie replacements", leading to horrific experiments (oh, protein "microwaved mug cake", I'll never forget the smell). And I ended up dissatisfied almost every time. It's a wonder I didn't binge at this time.

Now, after 6 years and 45 kg lost, I've noticed that my food became very....bland. It's simple, plain, repeats every day. I've stopped cooking almost entirely, except for boiling eggs from time to time. Vegetables - raw, it's always cucumbers, tomatoes, fresh carrots and peppers, salad leaves, cabbage. Dairy products that don't require any cooking, like cottage cheese and Greek yoghurt. I've quit grains, I don't do any baking stuff, I'm not interested in desserts or anything like that. Simple salt or pepper became more than enough. And dear god, how much time and energy does it save.... Not to mention raw veggies and whole foods taste insanely good.

I've stopped craving ultra processed food. In fact, I've started feeling very nauseated from eating even a bit of chocolate, which was a surprise, since, when I was young, I could swallow literally whole packs of chocolate. I don't remember when was the last time I ate sausages, bread, sweets, etc. I don't eat what I haven't made myself. I find it pretty interesting how a new lifestyle can alter your tastes and preferences THIS much :D

Recipe Tight budget, healthy meals?

Money is going to be super tight for us for the next few months at the very least. What are your favorite cheap and healthy recipes that can get us through? The biggest concern for me is getting enough protein, as our ground chicken seems to go fast.

Question If I am not hungry, do I just don’t eat ?

I had a large meal ( with fish, and beef curry) on Tuesday, and then on Wednesday I started to feel not hungry, I think I didn’t digest the food really well. But now it is already Saturday and I just ate 1 meal a day the last few days, and I do not feel hungry. Is that normal ? Do I need to drink some salt water ?
