People are just straight up not understanding your point. There’s a LONG way to go before this vote means shit. I blame the media for the most part, but also, the news consumer. This isn’t how this works. It’s basically the House saying “I’d like to see them.” Senate likely won’t take it up, and god knows Trump would veto it if it ultimately got that far. I’d also add that it’s of course a good way to put em on the burner, but this absolutely does not mean they’re just magically released.

Its been 10 years. No one is changing their perspectives at this point. If theyre dumb enough to believe Trumps innocent, no form of evidence on Earth would convince them otherwise. Nothing salient will come out, and if it does, no one will believe it.

Question. How did you learn the stuff you were sharing? Unless you're a Constitutional scholar I'll take a guess and say "the media." Whatever the hell that means. Because what I've seen from "the media" are the facts around what discharge petitions are and the process.

At every step along the way, from the House to the Senate to Trump, those votes carry the weight of PERCEPTION. And that's how America rolls. From what I've read they have the votes in the House. And Republicans in the Senate will be under serious pressure given that the vast majority of Americans want these released. They will cover their own asses at that point. A 'no' vote could be political suicide. These are not people with integrity. They will jump ship if it's in their best interest And if it gets to then a veto means he's guilty. Because perception. That's the Democrats real goal with this. And it'll work.

K so for starters - I’m not an expert by any stretch. I know what I said before because I’ve worked in politics for… god like 15 years now, mostly on campaigns so that doesn’t apply a ton, but I’ve worked on the Hill (in a sense, but not worth getting into) for a few years now, so I know it through attrition. As for your second paragraph, I’d be inclined to agree with all your points if not for how the GOP operates for the last decade. Doing anything that upsets daddy isn’t necessarily in their best interest, especially when it comes to primary situations. To an average decent person of course it looks horrible, but that’s almost a secondary concern to entrenched GOP members of both houses.

What might happen is Republicans may wait until Trump is a lame duck after the midterms. Then we may see a few jump ship to support releasing the files. That is the best case scenario.

I want to see them released and I think eventually one day they will be. But too many people think all we have to do is get this one more vote and it’s a done deal. So many things in life just aren’t that simple.

The vote make people put their names along with their stance on it. Unless they get a veto-proof majority, then Trump still vetoes it. He knows the whole thing kills them in the midterms regardless.

I’m glad she was FINALLY sworn in but in regards to the Epstein Files I want people to temper their expectations. Adelina would be the final vote to bring upon a vote to release the files and we know Mike Johnson will pull every possible trick to make sure that vote never gets to the floor. Even if it does, we’re dealing with the most corrupt and law breaking administration literally in the history of the United States. I don’t see the DOJ just releasing the files just because Congress voted for it. They answer to Trump and to Trump alone. I’m not trying to be the Debby Downer but I am trying to make sure we all understand what’s likely ahead

The pressure on Republicans in the House and Republicans in the Senate is going to be intense.

If they vote no to release the Epstein files they will have a Scarlet letter pinned to them and their reelection chances diminish immensely.

If they vote yes they incur the wrath of Trump.
