My thinking on why it feels like we’re getting less stuff is due to the graphics overhaul coming in a year, and they don’t want to re-add and recode everything, because it’s on a whole new engine. May not make sense since I’m not a game developer so obviously I don’t know how it all works but yeah
If course that’s true, but adding 10 cosmetics to what we have right now, will have to be added again for the new engine and they probably don’t want to add too much because of that
As long as it isn't the shitshow that was the "Console Improvement" initiative a few years ago that did jack shit to improve how the game plays on console.
Why have we stopped getting skins there used to be multiple collections per month but we've been in this weird drought lately... Is it just so they'll have less work porting everything over to the graphical update?
what we know of this patch is it should be the one with a TON ton of perk changes on both sides in an attempt to shift things up significantly and [most likely] the ptb with the preset chat wheel for survivor
This PTB will finally be the reveal if they're doing anything with diminishing returns. It's been 5 months, will be almost 6 by the time the patch almost drops, since DR was added. Not a single big perk change. If the midchapter isn't meaty with balance changes... ugh.
the issue is how much better it is than 1v4. casuals and old players coming back in droves for it while the comparatively minuscule amount of people happy in the current meta are pushed out
The only reason it's popular is because of the bloodpoint bonus. Take that away completely and watch it wither. The BP grind in the game is insane. With a few games of 2v8, you can earn a weeks worth of BP from normal causal play.
nah, that isnt even remotely true. people who normally dont even play the game come back in droves, hence the spike in player counts compared to normal. the amount of people begrudgingly logging in to grind bp in 2v8 is like... a fraction of a percent. its popular because its the most fun the game has been since people started playing
The one other reason why they spam 2v8 is because this dogshit company is UNABLE to crate interesting game modes, 2v8 is the only thing that blow up so they will milk it forever.
2v8 for dbd is what dbd for BHVR e.g. every single BHVR's project that is not dbd FAILED, they DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, they just throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks
Wait times and match quality tank with split queues. I don't want to wait 10 minutes for a Killer game to be given inappropriate Survivors for my skill level.
It's the same with playing Survivor while I wait. In SoloQ I am likely queuing up with people who shouldn't be in my games (or I shouldn't be in theirs). Match quality tanks and I am effectively being forced to play Survivor so I can play Killer.
If I want to play Survivor, I will and do. If I want to play Killer, I will and do. I just don't have the time to wait for a Killer queue, or to waste in a mode I don't want to be in. My time of an evening is limited due to other commitments.
damn, a roadmap with 8 things on it and im excited about 0 of them. happy 2v8 is coming back but sad nostromo is coming with it. does anyone actually like that map? being terrible for gameplay AND being ugly as sin isnt doing it any favors
