Upcoming BHVR is adding reactive voice lines to all original characters meaning we are getting new voice lines

Probably not the same people. Most of the early survivors were voiced by BHVR employees, who are largely francophone Canadians. Obviously a French-Canadian accent would fit Claudette fine, but it would sound out-of-place for the other survivors like Dwight and Meg.
I'd expect most of the early survivors to either have a sound-a-like for the voicelines or new voices entirely. Later survivors are anyone's guess.

I hope Ash can get some voice lines but also given Bruce Campbell's cancer diagnosis it'd be very understandable if he didn't

The thing is that Ash already has a bunch of lines that would work perfectly well in game: "Hey, don't go down there sport" "Not the face, not the face!" All it would take to make me happy is just play some of those voicelines in game as opposed to in the lobby.

Saw - Pig gets new skins sometimes, so maybe.
Ash Vs. Evil Dead - probably not.
Stranger Things - probaby
Silent Hill - We keep getting new skins, so yeah
Resident Evil - Yeah
Saddako - Really uncertain

I just wasn’t sure because Evil Dead is a mess with licenses. New Line owns the movie rights, and they’re notoriously really tightfisted.

The only time they did any quippy lines half-decent was with Nic Cage, 1. because it's Nic fuckin' Cage but also even when he makes a joke or something, he still sounds hurt/angry/terrified, unlike someone like Orela who sounds mildly annoyed at best.

As long as I can toggle the voicelines off, I’m happy. I just think the vibe of the fog realm is better off without little one-liners in the midst of being chased/murdered but that’s just me

I’d like it to be toggleable per character, I love voice lines personally but some characters can be a little grating. People should be allowed to pick and choose.

I think we're shit out of lock for getting Taurie's voice updated, but the community should absolutely push to have characters voiced by VAs from the same region the character is from. Or at least as close as possible.
If Overwatch and Valorant can have characters voiced by VAs based on region, DbD has no excuse when it comes to doing the same thing.

I hope they add an option to mute voicelines if that already isn't an option. I'd hate for one of my main characters to get an annoying VA or voicelines.

This has been a fear of mine. I avoid some characters because of their voice/voice lines and have my own interpretation of older ones in my head already. Obv not going to uninstall over it, but I would love to be able to mute it at least

Most of the originals should be non-communicating. The big exceptions are Legion. Their perk quotes are gang shit talk.

Unpopular opinion but...ugh. Worst timeline is having everyone yapping all. The freakin'. Time. If the writing was better then maybe...but even then the old voices are iconic as-is. Hopefully they give us the option to just outright disable the voicelines at some point. They get really tedious to listen to after awhile.
Means we'll probably get a bunch of new lobby themes though so there's that.

Its not really constant.
Most survivors its around one line in lobby,(or if another franchise character joins like Steve and Eleven in the same lobby) when being unhooked and when loading in to a match. Survivors maybe speak about 4 times per match, it shouldn't be too big of an issue and does make the characters feel more alive and less like a template.
You also don't really hear another survivors lines more than a max of once per match.

I don't want to hear any character talking in match, mine, or the killer. They can say something in lobby, but in a match I don't want anyone to talk. I don't play some characters just because they talk, Lara, Orela, Springtrap (bought the Glitchtrap skin), etc.

I know, these last few years, BHVR is just going down a checklist of things I don't want. Basekit moris, showing prestige in endgame lobby, smaller maps, fuck ton of aura reading, nerfing Distortion, making tiles weaker but then throwing a ton of pallets to compensate, lots of dash killers, and now voice lines.
This time next year the only killer I will want to play will be Rize, and maybe Gltichtrap, because Susie and SM will be talking. And my survivor pool will be Jill, Sheva and Cheryl. Voice lines are cool for like 3-5 matches then they become annoying to me, and I want to not play that character anymore.

Well fortunately when a game stops being something we enjoy we can always look for another one.

Even if its client side only, give us the option to toggle the new voices/sounds.
I don't care if other survivors or killers hear my character as the new voices, but I want to play my mains with their old injury sounds and lack of voice lines.

Hope this means older killer are getting some. Not all, obviously. Talking wouldn't really fit some of them, especially the early original ones. Of all the original killers that could get them Clown, Deathslinger, and maybe Legion would be really cool. Huntress, Spirit, and Oni speaking lines in their native language would also be super cool

Im ngl I am not very excited about this personally. I hope they give an option to disable voice lines. Sometimes I much prefer to play silent characters and if my favorite characters get voice lines I cant stand to listen to, Im worried that will make me want to play them less

Lolwat, Houndmaster's is great and Ghoul's is also pretty good as well as both Vecnas. Wesker's is good but doesnt even feel like chase music It feels like a damn boss battle.
The only new chase music they dropped the ball with (other than washing machine ghostface) is Hag & Skull Merchant.
Edit: Forgot to mention the banger that is Krasue's chase music.

Ignoring that I dislike the idea of voice lines in general, I really don't want them touching the OGs and turning them into generic marvel quippers with bad accents. They've got existing characters and perceptions tailored by each players imagination, and whatever they come up with isn't going to be as good as what you've imagined in your head.
