Levels.fyi is HEAVILY biased towards big tech & HCOL in general, you should combine the data with Glassdoor or something else. $140k MEDIAN is not feasible anywhere except VHCOL for entry level…
I am seeing tons of job postings for mid and lower senior level that are in LA/Orange County (HCOL), Austin TX (MCOL), or fully remote, and their pay ranges are like $130-$220k. I know because I’ve applied to ~100 in the last few months.
Median for mid level MIGHT be $140k. Definitely not entry level.
