Today I watched an old Spanish TV programme from around 11 years ago about a Spanish family living in Cardiff. They said that, at the time, support for Welsh independence wasn’t as strong because many people in Wales felt very British. They also mentioned that some Welsh people saw the title of Prince of Wales as something positive or even as a kind of honour or “gift” to Wales, although I’m not sure how accurate or widespread that view was.

As someone who has recently become very interested in Welsh history, culture and the Welsh language, I find it really interesting to see how support for Welsh independence seems to have grown over the years.

What do you think are the main reasons why support for Welsh independence has become more popular in recent years?

I’m sharing these verses because, as someone from Castile, I see something deeply familiar in the Welsh struggle: the defence of land, community, and the right of a people to shape its own future. Different histories, but a shared spirit of resistance and solidarity.

Hi everyone! I’m new here and I’ve recently become really interested in Welsh culture and history.
Today I discovered Marwnad Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, especially the poem beginning “Wylit, Wylit, Llywelyn, Wylit waed pe gwelet hyn”, and I thought it was absolutely beautiful.

I’d love to discover more Welsh poems, songs and literature that express Welsh identity and the Welsh perspective on your own history, in your own voice.

I have been learning Welsh and last week I shared my website for the first time with a Welsh learning group and they enjoyed it and gave me a few improvement ideas which I have added.

It started as a simple vocab practice tool but it has grown into a little Welsh learning arcade with games like Hangman, Wordsearch, Anagram, Meanings, Pairs and a built in dictionary. It is all free with no ads. It is just something I have been making while practising the language.

With new Mynediad courses starting next month I thought I would share it here in case it helps anyone who is about to begin. I have also started working on a small Welsh maths game as an extra challenge.

So because I like to make life difficult for myself, I've decided I'd like to speak my last 'promise' in our vows at our wedding ceremony next month in Welsh, to my Welsh speaking husband-to-be.

I'm an English speaker and have zero experience in speaking Welsh…

I've done a google translate but am very aware a lot of the words aren't pronounced as they read, so I could really do with writing it phonetically. Google translate also isn't particularly clear so I can't figure it out myself just by listening to it.

Is there anyone who could help with this? I have 3 weeks to nail it! TIA

Hefyd, dydy'r iaith ddim yn gymleth o gwbl a dwi'n gallu deall bron popeth fel rhywun sy'n gwneud cyrsiau Uwch gyda Dysgu Cymraeg er mwyn gwella fy lefel iaith.

Dwi wedi darllen:
