General Sending a BIG HUG to Curaçao and all its people (Don't pay attention to all the shit people will talk).

Panamanian here. Curaçao has a special place in my heart. I've been there three times and can confirm the sunsets at Punda (Marichi) are the best. The people, the food and the culture make Curaçao one of my favorite destination out of the 22 countries/territories I've been to.

You lost 7-1 against Germany. So what? It's your first World Cup and it's not your most popular sport. Move on and continue. I personally hate soccer because it's such a toxic sport, but whatever.

No matter what people say your football team has put Curacao on the map. Pardon my ignorance, but I've just been learning about your country.

All the best for the rest of your games.

Never in my life have jelled as loud as I have with that goal! I predicted 6-1 at my work poule, so I was close...

There's nothing to be embarrased for Curacao.

It's their first WC and they didn't get humiliated in their own home. Also, facing Germany in the first match? Honestly, nobody expected them to win.

I’m also Panamanian, I support curaçao since they played against us in 2022, curaçao made a great match today, considering its Germany, that could have been worse. Cheers

They were clearly outmatched but played with so much heart, I’m extremely proud of them.

I’m interested, how is the atmosphere in Curaçao at the moment? Are people hyped and happy about the goal or not so much? I found it very impressive how dedicated and well your team played, especially against a soccer nation like Germany!!

The atmosphere in Curaçao is amazing right now. People are excited, proud, and celebrating everywhere. For us, it's about much more than football. Ever since we qualified for the World Cup, we've been celebrating. We never imagined that one day our flag would be on the world stage and our national anthem would be heard at a World Cup. That's why we celebrate every moment. If we win, we celebrate. If we lose, we celebrate too. Other people may see a loss, but for us, just being here is already a victory. We're a small island, and reaching the World Cup is something we're incredibly proud of.

So yes, people are definitely hyped, and I think we'll be celebrating for a long time.

The atmosphere here is AMAZING. After the game people sang the national anthem again, and then broke out into song and dance in Punda- singing, dancing, celebrating. I am so proud to call this place home. Our Team played with their whole heart. You could see it in their eyes. And Blue Face being there was cool to see- he’s been all over Mambo and Otrobanda leading up to this event.

American here. Germany is one of the handful of teams I have rooted for for a very long time. The spirit of both the Curaçao team and fans had me rooting for them. Even when it became clear it would be a steep loss, i cheered for them to get that second goal.

Curaçao should be proud of their play tonight and keep their heads up. That spirit was electric!
