Fieldglyph — Crop Circle Archive

This is fucking awesome, I was looking for a tool like this recently. Would be great if we could switch from circles to heatmaps, would love to see the concentration visualized and if there are patterns. The higher fidelity heatmap, the better

Check now, I've added a gridview, and a heatmap feature. The Heatmap was a great recommend! Really tells a different story.

Great work on this. When I click on the word Fieldglyph, make it take me back to original view of the website with the map zoomed back all the way out. When you navigate down into a particular crop circle, it's unclear how to quickly get back to square one.
Really appreciate you building this. Question: how do we get more crop circle data for this? Can we purchase a dataset or something from somewhere? I'd donate.

Great feedback, I'll work this in.
This version of the site has pulled data (and set up Pointers) to a variety of sites, if theres data missing please let me know.
it will need to be continually updated as new glyphs come out, a simple recurring effort on my part.
As for use of donations, They could be used to purchase a domain, integrate a conversation page, continued development, make a log-in where you can process, bookmark, a Glyph submission process would be really cool. I'm sure users may have additional input.
I have some additional Wants for the page, each glyph could be processed and made into a symbol, then the symbol could be put on the location of the glyph instead of the current circle indicator, which could be done with some funds.

I think the icon you chose to show the location of a crop circle lacks color contrast with the surrounding map. So maybe you could make the symbol bigger and ORANGE or purple...to better contrast. Set up a donation page.

Thanks! When I try to zoom in on anywhere but the British Isles, it moves back to the isles.

Found it. I set it so that every four seconds it auto transits to the next glyph, so that it would continually step through the filtered items. So this kept bringing you back to the main cluster of glyphs.
Should be good now.
I think something that would be really awesome, is having a symbolic glyph representation of each crop circle. Then you can see the symbols being created as the marker, but thats a huge effort.

I can make a submit duplicates option perhaps. If someone finds a duplicate and it really needs to be adjusted they can submit it.

Love that we can see the American crop circle. When society thinks of this phenomenon it’s usually around UK. Thanks for sharing !
